I think this song is about feeling life is so shitty, so worthless, but when you think about it, it's not so bad. And your relationships w/ people aren't going to be PERFECT, there has to be some bumps in the road... and you don't want it to not work out, but you need to decide whether to take chances. And although it seems like everything in certain relationships suck, and are depressing, there is also good that comes of it-- You have to go through hell, to get the bliss.-- just a theory. |

john mayer is definitely incredible. you can tell what an amazing person he is, and how in touch with his feelings he is--i love him. he totally deserves all this recognition.-- this song really caught my attention while scanning the CD, i really like it alot...it's the kind of song that if i was sad about something would totally make me cry if i was listening to it, and i love songs like that--he is awesome--get the CD if you don't have it! --*loves john*-- |

I love Howie Day. he puts so much meaning into his lyrics and the way he sings is awesome. his whole CD is so inspiring to me, he really knows what's up, i wish i could jus go give him a big hug. although i'm not sure of the exact meaning, so many thoughts flow when i listen to this song. i love it so much. |

this song is super kick ass. so many girls have this problem. "my vanity is such a mess...obesessed w/ the beauty contest" half of my life I spent wanting to be the "pretty girls" that seem to be PERFECT. And now...I make fun of them. Yeah..I like to look nice, but to care SOOO much...it's kinda pathetic, they make me laugh...always gotta win the "BEAUTY CONTEST"...shouldn't be like that...Being me is good enough. Yeah..I wear make-up, I dress nice..(when i feel like it) lol...but you know what i'm saying! thanx gwen for understanding. you rock! |

*sigh* this song rox. I just want to cry when i hear it. Even though she seems to mostly be singing about her in her life of fame. I feel so connected to this song in so many ways. This is by far my favorite song on her CD (songs in A minor). I love singing this song. when i'm sad i could listen to this song for hours (although I could listen to it anytime)--I think this song in general is about someone, who feels so trapped, and confused. And there's is one thing that brings them joy ("only joy comes from song"). They fake being happy b/c they don't know what else to do,("through my smile, I cry")...maybe she's incredible to others, but she doesn't see it. And they don't understand that they have problems that they can't let out...The world is keeping her from what she wants, ("keepin' me from flyin").--I love this song. |

this song is truly grand. i don't understand how people can't like emo/punk. it's awesome...they sing with there heart, what they really feel. it's none of that bullshit boyband/diva crap that means absolutely nothing...even though they try to make it something.I love this song so much. I think it could me different things to different people, that's another thing about emo/punk, you can relate in so many different ways and connect to everyone in some way. And if it doesn't connect to you, you can feel what they felt when they sang the song. I LOVE THIS SONG.It rox. |
