| The Presets – Girl and the Sea Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I think the part of the parcel talks about casuality or destiny: in the same beach she's freeing herself, he were a day before and he was being free too, 'coz the "shirt on the ground" and all that, gives the idea of freedom. In fact, all the song gives this freedom idea. She's in such a spiritual state of conciousness that she doesn't care about anything in the world but her dreams, and The Presets are traying to transmit (even with the melody) how this state of mind is a gift going to the sea. |

| Is kind of obvious, but I think it's about a boy who likes this girl that has a boyfriend, and he doesn't speak to her because of that, but when the bf is missing, he goes for her and sleep with her. So she cheats on her bf and he is now the "other", only because that's the only way he can have her... | |

This song is pretty obvious. I think it's a very sexy song... it makes me wanna touch myself hehe just kidding. It's about following your instincts more than your mind or your heart. |

Oh and yeah, influenced by totally The Cure and Bowie, Sparks and Prince. I find it kind of Los Campesinos!, but they're more indie and Black Kids are more like post-punk revival... on the retro school, have you hear "Designs on AKA..."? It's totally lately 70s and 80s For last... don't you think the quality of the sound in some Black Kid's songs is like... very poor? Or maybe it's just in my version. |

I'm not sure, sometines i think musicians write lyrics with no totally sense or meaning... just because. And super-lobster, it did sound stupid... must be a kind of urban myth that was born preciselly because of this song. I find hard to believe the version that it's from a lesbian perspective, because he's totally man and totally hot hehe... i dont know, who knows. Maybe i'll ask them on myspace. |

| The Kooks – If Only Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Yeah! I thought about politic... But i really think its a song about anything and nothing. And it's confine the themes, even the phrases that they use in other songs: loved her man loved him twice, the passenger, the devil, etc... |

| I think this song is the voice of parents when they educate a girl and she go in the wrong road because she enter on the world of celebrities, so it's kind of giving advices. | |
| The Kooks – Shine On Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Safety pins holding up the things that make you mine About your hair, you needn't care: you look beautiful all of the time. Shine, shine, shine on! Yeees Won't you shine, shine on! Your magazines With people at the seams but you still read. I must admit, I don't believe in it but I see how you get sucked in. Shine, shine, shine on! Yeees Won't you shine, shine on! Cha la la la! Shine, shine, shine on! Yeees Won't you shine, shine on! Because you're not done. Why do you bite the hand that feeds you? Why do you, why do you bite the hand that feeds? Shine, shine, shine on! Yeeees Won't you shine, shine on! Cha la la la! Shine, shine, shine on! Yeeees Won't you shine, shine on! Safety pins holding up the things that make you mine About your hair, you needn't care: you look beautiful all of the time. I think it's about a girl that is on the fashion scene, not necessarily a model, but a girl that likes fashion and reads magazines and is kind of vain and think she's not beautiful because she's sucked by the frivolous world of celebrities. So he as a man can't understand it and he's telling her that she shines as she is. I just don't understand the part of "Why did you bite the hand that feeds you", maybe because she's sabotaging herself by entering on that dream world where she doesn't fits because she's a common person. I don't know... maybe it's just a projection xD |
