i noticed that its all backwards... from verse 1 - letting her go (after thinking it wasnt gonna hurt) until the day he first said hi to her ("what was i thinking when we said hello"). its like its all over now and he is going thru it over again in his head... from now that shes gone back to the day he first said hi to her. i think thats pretty cool :) |

i cant listen to this song anymore since i found out that he spells out "i love you" at the end... this is one of the saddest songs ive ever heard in my life... this is even sadder than Butterfly. i dont think anyone who has ever been in love with somebody who doesnt even deserve your love could listen to this song without getting upset. i love Weezer for making me feel this way... they are so much more than just a "rock band". |

Anyone ever noticed the similarities between this song and Crab from the green album? To me its like Crab Pt2, like the same story this time looked at from the guys perspective. I dont know maybe im wrong but its something i noticed when i first listened to Take Control. |

The "And my girl we'll say good-bye to the things we'll never try" line is like the saddest thing ive heard in a very long time. Theres a couple of awesome parts like this on Maladroit... in a couple of different songs on the album and although i guess they would add up to maybe 1-2 minutes total this is what i think makes Weezer quite special. |

Doesnt mean im wrong tho :) This is just what i thought the song was about first time i heard it and i guess thats one of the reasons why the song means something to me. Slob is definitely my favorite song on Maladroit. |

Well, i dont think Slob is about fans or anything like that... i think Rivers is talking about being in love with a girl who doesnt feel the same way about him... telling him to go get a life instead of dreaming of a relationship thats not gonna work out anyway (for whatever reasons)... it sounds like hes been trying anything to make this work and still the girls always complaining over ridiculous things that dont matter when you are in love ("...Waiting for little clues to appear that I drank some of grandaddy's beer..."). This song is so intense, it almost made me cry first time i heard it. |
