...some many meanings....i am going with, this is describing a love for a politician (oh, let's be trendy and bash Bush here a bit more---even though I do not support that)....the politician gets elevated higher and higher beyond his compentensy (seems to explain the vertigo, huh?), during his campaigning, delegation, inauguration, etc, there are bands, girls all dolled up, etc, to where this guy is God-like and begins to believe his is the greatest, like a self fulfilling prophesy! Anyway, he begins to use this power uncontrollably, yet his followers believe in him blindly "just give me what I want, and know one gets hurt!), lastly, his followers are so engrossed in this beliefe, he has taught them to replace there own feelings and thoughts in favor of his....

who was this written by, if stone/jeff it could relate to Andy Wood....his light does shine from afar and has made them stars...think about it....i agree with the whole loss/grief/regret themes, but it could be about anyone, even still living but gone (but not forgotten), that is the appeal of PJ songs, they can be very personal lyrically.. I really dig this song. |

wow, never thought of this as a song about a cemetary....brings new meaning to this so that I have know for over 12 yrs! While I do not necessarily agree with this interp, it does make some sense.....kind of like another song in the same vein as Sad and Otherside....I had always thought of this song as being about a relationship gone bad/being scorned, but this somewhat gives it new face for me |

you guys need to decide whether you are arguing either the lyrics to Ten or Unplugged, they are apples and oranges and are making your point of whether his lyrics are accurate or not look non-credible. By the way, the official tab does say this, but PJ has said in interviews that the lyrics were done by "professional" tab writers and not from the band's lyrics, and are not accurate.
Regardless, lets stop getting on this guy for submitting published lyrics that he did not know were wrong. We can all atleast agree on the power of this song and continue to support the band by going to the concerts, remaining a member of 10C and by buying (not downloading) the albums.... |
