this was the most interesting song I'd heard in a long while. Still is. He's talking about how much bullshit there is in LA (and presumably the rest of the world). He concentrates on the theory of California detaching itself from america cause it sucks shit and hed like to see it slip away, by tidal wave and by the people themselves (watch you flush it all away). on the inside cover behind the cd there is shown a hologram of california. When he speaks of Arizona bay, there really is no arizona bay obviously, but there would be if california he sings learn to swim hes sayin you californians better be ready cause if california sinks away you'll all be floating. which kinda sucks cause I was plannin to move to CA. lol. ah well, great song

He's probably hurt too cause it says "but now im stuck debating if i even wanna go". Good song though...not as meaningful as some of their songs, but still rad

When I first heard this song it was an automatic assumtion that it was about an orgy. I still believe it to be. You can try to make it what you want, but it's definatly not about politics, unless SOAD likes to lie in interviews (kdog youre right about the guitar world stuff). When you're dealing with lyrical geniouses you can't tell what the hell they mean, but this song seems, to me, to be one of their less complex. I think they're just making lots of references to sex through a pogo stick. And I think he was the only guy in the orgy hah. Lucky him. "But just one pogo stick". And "Bounce, up, down"...I mean think about it. What do you do when you have sex? hahah. I dunno...thats what I think anyways.

This is definatly one of the best songs I've ever come across about missing someone. It means a great deal to me and many others, and is such a simple song lyrically, but so many can relate to it. If you haven't heard it, you need to go buy the CD quick!
