pain is probably the most under-appreciated punk band out there. their songs are far more literate and intelligent than most of the mosh pit bull shit out there. even the technical aspects are great, the band members are talented and the background is original and listenble. |

thi song seems to be the band letting out some pent up frustration. 311 has historically been comitted to non violence and peace and all that, but i think that they have come to the conclusion that its not all good, that pot and sunshine wont solve everything. the fact that this song is not even official(its a "secret" song) shows that it isnt a message that the band doesnt always want to be associated with, but that it still needs to be heard. |

i have one comment: if you listen closely to the chorus, and i mean really closely when it is listed as "this is just a waste of my mind" i always hear "waste of our drugs". am i just insane or can someone validate me? |

first, i do not believe that this song is demeaning anarchy. i believe that the song is completely pro anarchy, as is the band the vandals. that said, i believe that this song completely sums up both sides of the anarchy argument. the vandals can say "but if you think you're free try walking into a deli and urinating on the cheese" and mean that there should be no laws against that. on the other side the same line shows why anarchy could not work: people who actually want to piss on someone else's cheese. food for thought, tell me what you think... |

i personally beleive that this song is more anti drug than pro drug. its like that afroman song, cuz i got high. at first listen it sounds like the guy is advocating pot, but then he starts talking about the mess that is his life. in this song, it sounds like nofx is making more of a mockery of people that do drugs because its cool. then again, i might just be giving them more credit than they deserve. |
