I'm 20 and I still "heart" them.
I used to skip this song when I was 14, because it scared me. Hahahaha! |

| Marcy Playground – Sex And Candy Lyrics

I always thought it was about his girlfriend cheating on him. Like he comes home, can smell sex and the candy that this guy has obviously given his girlfriend. So he starts following her (downtown) to see if it's true. "Who's that lounging in my chair" means he can sense that someone else has been there, someone else has been with (in) his girlfriend. |

This song is really awesome, so boppy and fun. I've really got no idea what it's about though. I know Daniel wrote it in New York City, there's obvious references to it. It appears to be such a random song, but knowing Daniel (well, knowing his music at least) I'm sure it's not... |

| Lifehouse – Anchor Lyrics

I don't know about this song anymore. It sounds like a love song, but it's a bit dependent. I for one hate the thought of having an "anchor".
Opposition, an anchor doesn't pick you up, they drag you down and keep you in the one spot. |

I think it's about a girl who makes him want to write songs, and inspires him. Kind of like his muse. "Bird" is just slang for girl, like chick. That's what makes this song so clever, she's his song 'bird'. Sigh. |

I think Noel is heaps better than Liam. His voice is nowhere near as whiny. *ducks from Liam fans. And uh, Liam*
Anyway I love this song, it's so Beatles. |

I can't believe no-one has commented on this song. It's awesome, air-guitar kinda stuff.
About how stupid drugs are, which is a nice change. |

This is my favourite Lifehouse song.
"Cause everyone is looking
Everyone is laughing
But I think everyone feels the same
Everybody wants to feel okay
Everybody wants to
Everybody wants to feel"
That part of the song just rocks, especially live. I think Ashleigh is spot on with her interpretation, so I won't say anymore. |

| Lifehouse – Am I Ever Gonna Find Out Lyrics

I interpreted it differently, to match the situation I was going through at the time. It just reminds me of putting my heart out there, waiting for a reaction. Like, just let me know what it's going to be, so we can either take things further or I can move on in my life. |

This helped me through a really hard time of losing my three best friends. I can relate to every word in this song, it is SO bizzare. |

| The Whitlams – Fall For You Lyrics

I didn't think this was a wise choice for the first single, but it seems to have done well. The beginning is the only part that stands out to me; "Broad horizon as I walk from your embrace." Maybe, when one person means the whole world to you? Makes you realise how limitless the world is? ... especially when you can't have them. |

| The Whitlams – Blow Up The Pokies Lyrics

I don't understand how this song can remind you of being free. It's COMPLETELY the opposite of that.
This song was banned in casinos all over Australia, because our policies are completely screwed up and the Government makes millions of dollars through the pokies... but hey don't get me started on that.
I think Tim captured the agony and torture that is a gambling addiction (or an addiction of any kind really) perfectly, and managed to offer some hope; "Show them you can be your own man again." Because this crap is going on all the time and it's tearing families apart. |

This song gets old really quickly. And it's so *familiar* sounding... uggh. But it's really awesome if you don't have to listen to it a thousand times a day. |

I agree. I just got their latest album, it's excellent. Definitely better stuff to come though, once they get settled. Much like Grinspoon I'm guessing... they seem to be getting better and better. |

I would say the vast majority, if not all of Jason's songs are inspired by God.
"WHAT ARE YOU THINKING AS YOU LOOK DOWN ON ME" - That line sums up everything I believe Jason to be thinking when he writes, or pretty much does anything. |
