such a GREAT song... sooo emotional and makes you wanna cry, but @ the same time it makes you wanna go out and do something meaningful-go make a difference in someones life the moment you hear the song........ maybe thats just me, but this CD just makes me feel sooo many things - i effin love it!!!

i cry a lot when i hear this song... but mostly cuz it reminds me of old great times with the guy i love - but anyway! yeah... when i saw them in concert before he started singing he goes "this song is about one of those craaazy nights... this songs about getting drunk... and about the morning after!" - but i think there is sooo much more to this song..... :( .... def. one of my all time favorite CC songs!! "shes my angel... shes a little better than the one who used to be with me" - nice :) ..... and "Oh, well happy new year's baby/We could probably fix it if we clean it up all day/Or we could simply pack our bags/And catch a plane to Barcelona 'cause this city's a drag.." i think thats just like "we could sit around and straighten out last nights drunken dramas... or we could just run away from it all... just leave the drama behind" - plus, my town sucks ass so i like that too :) |

i think its about someone that is trying to get back a relationship to being good agian... but the other person knows that they cant be good again, and that the 'chaser' is just chasing the ghost of a good thing... chasing what used to be good, but just isnt there anymore...... and they also want to try to alter feelings or personality to fit the other persons just to be with them... like the whole 'bend the pieces till they fit' part-like when someone changes who they are just to please others or to manipulate others into loving us maybe sorta kinda! |

i have mixed feelings on the interpretations..... i see the whole suicide/mental hospital thing with the shoelaces and belt part. I also see the whole salt/wound thing basically saying that either by choice or not, chris is constantly dwelling on the same heartbreaks and even if he starts to feel okay, he goes back and puts himself thru the old pain. The "sometimes scars are tracks" part confuses me a little cuz i can see it as emotional scars or as physical scars (from cutting...) - so i dunno whether to think of it as the whole Dashboard vs. Fans thing.. or like a general depression thing - i can see the song meaning both things... soo i guess depending on MY mood that day... ill see how i interpret the lyrics! cuz i know when someone is depressed and they have a day where they may start to feel okay, they forget what okay feels like... so they retract good feelings and think of things that usually upset them so they can feel how they are used to feeling (depressed). hence the reasons most emo kids like dashboard and love emo!! ha |

ahh this song was so amazing live - it wasn't the acoustic version, but i just d/l'ed the acoustic and its real real niiice :) but if anyone ever has the chance to see them live, do it! not only were they all real nice and signed my cd and got pics with me and my friends, but they all are real hot and TALENTED on stage :) them live outweighs their cd by far! |
