I did a 50 mile charity walk for a disease my dad has. I ended up splitting from my group and made it to the finish before them and alone. I was in pain (ended up losing 3 toenails) and this song was playing at the finish as I came in and it was just perfect. What a great feeling. Now it makes me think of that every time.
amazing lyrics. about letting love slip through your fingers and only realizing when the other has moved on. There's an element of alcoholism on White Ladder. Alcoholism is commonly responsible for stupidity in relationships. |

I want to know what the deal is with the title is. Misty Mountains is capitalized in the lyrics, which makes me think it's some sort of reference to Tolkien.

I think this is about when one of the lead singers hit a female journalist at a party, then the details surrounding it were a mess in the papers afterwards. I still don't know the full story, but I hear apologies were made and it is ancient news now. So, I guess the song is about standing by eachother through all the crap that their fame will bring and has brought. |

I saw an interview and the meaning is something to this effect: this song is actually about the album, because I guess the band had trouble with the label and they didn't think the album would ever be released, so in making it they made it as if it would never be released and they called it "never seen the light of day" because they knew it might never see the light of day. |

I like the last bit. Imagine having a crazy night out and waking up to the news in the morning, and we all know the news is never good news. it's like the hangover is more than just alcohol induced, you leave a world of carefree fantasy behind along with your drunkenness, only to wake up hungover and in the real depressing world. I'm not saying the song is about alcohol, but I suppose Ochrasy would be similar to the feeling alcohol gives people. |

this is a paraphrase from a German interview before the CD came out where the interviewer asked what the song is about
GUSTAF: "It's about an experience me and Bjorn had in Amsterdam. . . It's uhhhh, not for children, not even for adults. . . it's a very frightening story, but it's all there on the album, I don't want to give out any details. It was the best night and the worst night of my life"
Interviewer: "How did it end. . .?"
BJORN: "It ended up with me phoning God"
INTERVIEWER"what did he say?"
BJORN: "I can't tell you. But, it was a lie"
Bjorn's last line is hilarious because the song wasn't even out yet, so the viewers had no idea that he answering the question with song lyrics. noisy_mod seems to be the closest to that description. |
