This song becomes incredibly depressing when you realize you can relate to it. Still amazing though. |

| The Mars Volta – Eriatark AD Lyrics

It should be "Eriatarka AD" not Eriatark, but yes this appears to be an early recording/demo of the song with only one section of altered lyrics. The vibe of the song is quite different than the released version, but both are very good in their own way. |

Wow Paramore is not my style of music at all but this song is really addictive. I love the vocals, hope to hear more along these lines from them. |

This song doesn't sound exactly anti-war as it sounds like a diatribe against people who defend the 2nd Amendment as an excuse to stock pile assault rifles, high caliber weapons and other such useless weapons as a means to "defend ones self" and how this allows people easy access to guns, people who wind up shooting up schools, malls, fast food establishments and so on. I'm not saying everyone with a gun is crazy but there are some people that are a bit too crazy about guns. |

What a shame that people dont seem to like this song. It feels like its a great transition from the first half to the second half of the album. Its a short simple strait to the point song. Has a great feel and sound to it. |

At least in the youtube video I saw of this song, the "Take it like a man" part was sung by Sarah Reiser and Laura Beard (of Cedric's previous band, The Fall On Dead Ears). Sadly these two were the subject of Napoleon Solo when they were killed in a car wreck. |

Also, in response to Thandiwandi, I saw them live at the electric facotry on 9/20/08 and they played this song as well and it was totally awesome. |

Im with Goofy, this album is awesome however the second half seems to lose a little steam after Goliath, with the exception of Ouroborous and Agadez being mind-blowing. |

We lie wide awake in our parents' beds
I love that line. Basically we grow up to be our parents. Working to support our kids so they can grow up to work to support their kids. |

punkpirate i think youre really reading to deeply here to try and find an answer. It seems pretty obvious the subject is about a groupie and the strange deaths. The groupie is obviously seeing someone at a show, following them home and then killing them. Seems like sexual frustration seeing how cedric says "you know you're beautiful when you're dead" |

Nick Hexum himself said this song is about being depressed. Good thoughts on whatelse it could possibly mean though. I love this song. |

this version is only about 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 better than the limp bizkit version.
limp bizkit = worst band ever |
