Indeed, dancebabe, you are right on the money. James 4:6 - "God sets himself against the proud, but he shows favor to the humble." However, while I know this song originally had NOTHING to do with "everything," I do think that it has an added special significance in respect to that. America as a whole is a prideful nation that thinks it can't be touched, but it is dead wrong. |

I agree with fypast...this song seems to me to be about how little kids will believe anything unquestioningly...hey, just look at Santa Claus. But as we get older, the world starts to get tougher to deal with as more temptations present themselves to us. But with God's help, we can be that little kid again and believe unquestioningly. WOW. It is so amazing to see what kind of emotion springs up from...I forget who said it in there somewhere..."8 little words..." I know all of you are probably getting sick of all this petty arguing and bickering, but I just have to get my say in. For the most part, I just want to say a few things to some of you in particular.
irisheyes - you are right on the money when you say that secular music has an effect on your life and your behavior. My bud Bryce is one of the most awesome on-fire people I know. But he used to listen to marilyn manson and korn and all that junk...and it showed. But once he threw it away and let the LORD into his life, there was a definite change...and hey, speaking of him, you all should check out his website. www.christcoremusic.net
blinkfan - well. Since you DO claim to be Catholic, you may be familiar with that little book called the Bible. Let me tell you a little (ok, more than a little) about it...
First, you think Jesus should stay out of music? try Psalm 150; basically, it says you should worship God ALL the time with EVERYTHING you have. Or Colossians 3:16 - make music for God!
You don't like "Jesus Freaks"? again, try Psalm 150. Or 1 Corinthians 9:14-17 - The Lord orders us to preach the gospel, and terrible things can happen if you don't!
And lastly, your mouth, man! Ephesians 5:4 - Foul language is not fitting for a Christian.
bigwillystyle - If you are THAT hateful towards Christians and their beliefs, why are you even visiting this site?
dcboy - you rock. It is fantastic to see you so calmly defending your faith and beliefs in the face of such violent opposition.
Jemma - it may just be beating a dead horse, but I am truly sorry that all the christians you meet are jerks. I wholeheartedly agree, some of the coolest and nicest people I know are also some of the biggest agnostics and atheists. But i also must defend the "jesus freaks" for one minute...well, just read what I said to blinkfan again. We have to do it! He DIED for us (and if you anything about crucifixion, it AIN'T nice), so the least we can do is tell people about it!
