these 2 interpretations are good, i also think its about how people tend to act as puppets, letting others make them, in a sense. for example, when people act or dress in a certain way to avoid criticism...thats letting someone else 'make you'. or when people get mad and say 'well, he MADE me mad because he did blah blah blah'...so?? you are the one and only person in control of your feelings, emotions, and actions. make yourself. |

well i don't know about ALL the lyrics, but the parts about 'would i bite my toungue, and live with what you've done?' i think is saying hes questioning whether or not he should 'bite his toungue' (not say anything) about whatever it is she's done..
and ..'I've surrounded myself with all I have inside '
means that what hes feeling, he puts himself around...for example, if hes angry inside, hes around angry people or something? or if hes sad, hes around sad peoiple and things that are sad? just a guess, or maybe i read too much into everything

yes, definitely a great song ..
it's pretty self-explanatory, but for those of you who need some help, perfection through silence, well, it means what it says. it's the idea that by holding your toungue, you could appear more perfect, because then you won't say anything you would regret or that would make you seem flawed.. it reminds me of an incubus lyric..'High fives to a better judgement
By saying less today, I will gain more'..well thats my 2 cents worth..
