| i believe it's about accidentally hurting your friends and loved ones. it's like when you do it, it seems like harmless fun, and it's all cool and you don't think about it. but then you go home, sit alone, watch tv, shower, sit at the computer, and you just think about what you said or did and realize how it must have hurt that person. you begin to hate yourself and acquire low self asteem thinking that you're a worthless person. you don't want to tell them you're sorry because if u realy are such a worthless person like you think you are, what would an apology meen to them, they become hollow. eventually you close everyone else out and just take things day by day and become overly causious about the things you say and do. at least this is what i think the song is about. | |

i read in an interview with Daron Malakian that this song IS about Charles Manson and his animal rights movement titled Animals, Trees, Water, Air. The part that says "Hey you, see me, pictures crazy, All the world I've seen before me passing by, I've got, nothing, to gain, to lose, All the world I've seen before me passing by, " to me is ment to be a "statement" coming from Manson about "why would i lie about my past crimes, i've got nothing to gain or lose, i'm telling the truth, they just print my crazy pictures to make me look bad" then i believe the part that says "you don't care about how i feal, i don't feal it anymore" is kinduv a statement from nature as if it were a single being, saying basically "you shit on me constantly, but i've become numb to your disrespect for me" (it kinda makes u feal sorry for nature in this way) and finally "i don't sleep", i believe, is a nod to light pollution at night, "i don't eat" is a nod to the lack of nurishment and care we give to the land, and "i don't live" meens "i'm a shell, all i meen to u anymore is a food source, i don't live, i just exist", but anyways, that's what i think this song meens, kinduv a trade off on views of nature and charles manson, read the interview with daron malakian in issue #54 of Guitar Legends, he says things about this song and about charles manson that will open your eyes better. |
