I can't help but think that this was written about DJ A.M.'s final day in New York City and then things that must've been racing through his head as he knew he just relapsed. |

This somehow has DJ A.M. written all over it...
Something about the ghost and how it hurts...they were very close friends.
You can feel the energy from Travis like crazy on this track. |

| CeeLo Green – Fuck You Lyrics

Despite the obvious references to girls and what a good time he had, this song is about how the music industry treats its artists. As an artist, when you're hot, executives treat you very well and suck up to you to keep producing hits and making them money. But when you're no longer relevant or are on the way down, they're just looking for the next bigger and better deal.
Cee-Lo, on "A Different Spin With Mark Hoppus" said he wrote this as a direct result of a nasty dispute with his label. |

Definitely a track about heroin. Heroin, a depressant, pulls your body and almost forces it to lay down, hence the nodding sways of typical heroin addicts. Hence the pull = gravity |

| Chevelle – Straight Jacket Fashion Lyrics

For me, it signifies the urge to do drugs. Perhaps a straight jacket fashion signifies the straight edge lifestyle?
The entire verse beginning with "His straight jacket fashion" is someone who is either trying drugs for the first time or has just finished doing drugs for the first time. |

I became familiar with this song when it was used in an SNL Digital Short. Within two seconds after the skit finished, I jumped on Wiki, did a search for "SNL Digital Short," found out who the artist was, and downloaded the song. It's simply magnificent.
I will now download "The O.C." episode which made it a hit.

| Muse – Soldier's Poem Lyrics

In a weird way, I can picture a P.O.W. speaking to a prison guard and asking for his release for the reasons mentioned. They both know that in the end, their duties are just a job and there is no personal resentment between them.
The guard retorts that he'd still lay down his life to capture or kill the soldier. The guard is overzealous and nationalistic and feels that the P.O.W.'s request is ludicrous, hence "you think you deserve your freedom?"
I know this interpretation is way out there but I instantly pictured this "friendly" conversation from the moment I heard this mini masterpiece. |

Truly a timeless classic. It took me until 2007 to finally appreciate and understand its real meaning. Easily one of the greatest lyrics ever penned. |
