I think this song is about a loss of identity. He can't find himself because he has killed off who he once was. He feels lost among all these people. Without knowing who he is, everyone is the same. He can't see anything when he wakes up on the sidewalk because his perception has changed. He can't blame anyone else for what has happened to himself. He has killed who he was and he cannot change it. All he feels is this raw emotion. He can't place the emotion and he can't escape it. |

This reminds me of falling in love when you only want to be with that person and run away. It changes your whole outlook on life. And "Things I once though unbelievable in my life have all taken place" reminds me of how I felt about love in my life and also many things that love has now opened me up to. |

This song really helped me when I went through a period in my life when I felt very suicidal. I was going through all these changes and indecisions. I was so confused but when I heard Fiona sing this song, I really felt that she somehow understood me. I really needed that understanding right then. The song allowed me to return to my music and writing in a way I had never been capable of before. |

This definitely reminds me of my boyfriend. We go to different colleges but we have lasted a year apart despite all the odds and arguments that aren't easily resolved over the phone. This song really made me feel much better when I was going through the first months of being apart from him. |
