I've always loved this song. It brings up so much imagry. Television, children fed. It makes me think of children being fed on TV, the grow up consuming what ever comes out of the tube. (and hey you are what you eat.) They gobble it up and beg for more. Unborn living, Living dead. I'm sorry, I know I'm gonna catch hell from someone, but this line always makes me think of abortion. The unborn are so important to some that they will kill Doctors (etc.) who have lives and families and people who care about them. Unborn living, Living dead. It's just my opinion... |

Hair of the dog was the first Nazareth album I bought. Went I saw them in concert they played this and it was amazing. I really had no idea that the weird sound about half way through the song was a bagpipe noise. It was so cool. |

The first time I heard this song was after years of suffering from depression, it made me feel so much better - like maybe someday everything would be okay. Now I listen to it whenever I'm having a bad day or things aren't going right. It never fails to help me find some joy. |

This song is really very beautiful. It's a happy song and a sad song at the same time. And I think wasting time being angry or hostile is silly. I know George didn't write this song, but it doesn't matter. It also doesn't matter what inspires people to listen to the beatles, whether it be finding them on your own or hearing their songs on a soundtrack. I've loved the beatles for years, but if someone comes to find their awsome-ness via "I am Sam", all the power to them. Beauty is beauty, peace is peace and Love is love no matter where you find it. |
