point well stated my friend. you are correct. you cannot just "change" into a punk, you have to already be one. I heard from a source that sid couldn't play bass for crap. Then again, it only is a source. sid was an awesome person, and I think that some punks looked up to him. We still idolize people from times long gone. When a person dies, sure their body is gone, but their memory lives on. And this is the case with sid vicious. His memory lives on, and it will live on for many decades to come. R.I.P. Sid |

alright. i just thought that you were refering to me. i agree with you. i knew that sid couldn't play bass at all, but i didn't know that he was a gimmick. it does seem like correct information. i think what you were saying about people being all clued up in old punk bands, and then dropping someone's name, makes them think they know it all.
just on a personal note, i've been a punker for 3 years now. so i know what i know. my friend brought me into this scene, and i could never leave it. punk rocks! i'm tired of seeing all these people call themselves "punks" and think that its just about the dress. punk isn't about the dress, its all about the music. and that's how it should stay. punks not dead!

If you were refering to me, I don't have little knowledge about The Sex Pistols. I just think that Sid is a really cool person. Johnny Rotten rules also. As the voice of the pistols, he made the band really cool. with a unqiue sound. and that is what made this band great |
