exactly what I was thinking Catawhompus...when I was reading the lyrics, I was getting an imagine of a man fleeing in the forest and hiding, but knowing he'll be found. he's found, then shot in the head. before I read the lyrics, I thought the song sounded kinda sexy and thought it could be about sex lol |

I'm sorry, but I think this song is about drugs. in fact, I think the lead singer fought a drug addiction - but don't quote me on that. some of their songs are in fact drug-related like true faith, and you can probably make an argument for regret too
so first, lets look at the title: "temptation," enough said. now lets look at the context and history. this song came out when ecstacy was becoming popular in manchester music scene. new order was part of the manchester music scene. what happens when you're at a dance club on ecstacy? you're dancing around and falling in love with everyone, hence "you've got green/blue/grey eyes And I've never seen anyone quite like you before

in the song, he's dancing around on X in a club
then he talks about heaven, a gateway, obviously him being high...gateway drug, etc. the rest of the song is about tension and interpersonal conflict caused by drugs, and I think the final verse confirms it "oh, its the last time," thats what many addicts find themselves saying |

is it just me or are there some missing lyrics? listen to the song, in between "if you spent one more minute with me" and "and I don't know, is one more minute gonna kill you know?" he says something that I can't quite understand, but it sounds something like "what do you think about those days?." has anyone else noticed this? I'm curious about what he says there |
