Creed – My Sacrifice Lyrics 21 years ago
Okay, I never demanded that you say nice things all the time. As a matter of fact, Jesus Christ wasn’t always saying nice things, either. Here’s just a few examples: (Matt. 12:34: O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things?...), (Matt. 7:23: And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.), (Rev. 3:16: So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.), and (John 8:44: Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do…). And I never said anything against being a good person. Matt. 7:21: Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven., plus 6:24: No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Oh, and forbidding marriage is evil: Heb. 13:4: Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. 1 Cor. 7:2: Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
I haven’t seen very much of that website yet, but I just had to post to answer your one question. That picture of Jesus is inaccurate; He looks like a hippie with long hair and a little facial hair. (1 Cor. 11:14: Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? Isa. 50:6: I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting. Rev. 1:12-16: And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.) So obviously, Jesus couldn’t be wearing long hair, He had a beard long enough to pluck out, and Rev. 1:14 is pretty self-explanatory. Other than that, the Bible doesn’t give a clear description of His appearance, so who are we to attempt to make a portrait of our Lord and Saviour? This may not seem to matter, but Paul says, “A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump. (1 Cor. 5:6, Gal. 5:9).”
But I will agree with you that Martin Luther was a heretic, however I am a Lutheran but don't agree with all their teachings. http://www.rapidnet.com/~jbeard/bdm/exposes/luther/

Creed – My Sacrifice Lyrics 21 years ago
Okay PE, riddle me this: if the Catholic church is the one true church, built by Jesus Christ, then why did the Pope kiss the Islamic (the religion that believes Jesus was not the Son of God, but a mere prophet.) Qur’an, and what's with all the priests having been arrested on charges of pedophilia? Could this be the sign of Catholic leaders and such actually embracing everyone regardless of religion and lifestyle? Doesn't sound like something Jesus would do.
Also, why do you Catholics bow/pray to Mary? The Bible says she is blessed among women, and I won't deny that the virgin birth is an essential part of the Christian faith, but it doesn't say anywhere to make her an object of worship and adoration. John 1:1,2 says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God." so technically, she's not really the mother of Jesus, let alone the mother of God. I believe she is in heaven, but not the QUEEN OF heaven.
And by the way, charity and missionary work are wonderful things to do, but boasting about it is a sin: "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." (Eph. 2:8-10), and so is using profanity: "But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth." (Col. 3:8). Also consider also that Jesus says that out of your heart the mouth speaks (Matt. 12:34) and 36: "But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment."

Hey PE, I think you should look at Hard Nuts for Catholic Apologists at http://wayoflife.org/fbns/hardnuts-catholicapolog.html and honestly answer all those questions. The topical index of Roman Catholicism is at http://www.wayoflife.org/fbns/fbns-index/rccfbns.htm and have you ever heard of Dave Hunt's book called "A Woman Rides the Beast"? Creed – Higher Lyrics 21 years ago
I'd like to know everyone's opinion on this article: http://www.goodfight.org/e_creed.html and here's a sample of it that shows the true meaning behind this song:
"Many Christian’s have interpreted songs by Creed to have biblical meanings when in fact they actually have diabolical influences behind them. Take for instance Creed’s very successful song Higher. I had one man call me up and ask about the song because his very large church had added Higher to their worship list, believing apparently that it had something to do with Christ. Stapp admitted that the song has nothing to do with Christ ascension and more to do with eastern mysticism. Stapp wrote the song after applying occultic techniques found in an esoteric book called Awake and Dreaming written about occultic experiences and Hindu mystics. Stapp claimed that the book helped him deal with a reoccurring dream. Stapp states that it helped him learn about lucid-dreaming, "You're physically asleep, but you're awake in your mind,". This altered state of consciousness is known in the occult as the alpha state and is a prime time when one is susceptible to contact with demonic beings. Many mediums have spoken of this state when receiving messages from the demonic spirit world. By Stapps own admission, Higher, is not about Jesus Christ or about getting closer to God through Christ but about occultic experiences as influenced by a book on the occult. Christians are forbidden to delve into the occultic realm. (Deut 18:9-12)"

Staind – Layne Lyrics 22 years ago
What's strange is that Zoe Jane Lewis was born the same day Layne Staley of Alice in Chains passed away, April 5, 2002, and exactly eight years earlier, Kurt Cobain of Nirvana was also killed. I found this at http://ubl.artistdirect.com/music/artist/bio/0,,496485,00.html?artist=Layne+Staley. AIC was one of Lewis' favorite bands before he joined a band himself, and listening to them helped him through hard times so he wouldn't feel as bad. And because he pulled through, he's still alive and now has a family.

Staind – Price To Play Lyrics 22 years ago
No comments yet? This song is pretty good, but not the best on the new album, which surprisingly isn't a downer. I never thought that Staind could top Break The Cycle, but they just did with 14 Shades Of Grey, because Aaron Lewis is not as self-involved as he was before. This song is so straightforward, as is most of Staind's songs, that there is no need to explain what it means.

Ok, I'll give my opinion on the song. I think it's an attack on those who are apathetic and self-centered enough to get what they want, even at other people's expense. But when I saw the video, it could also have been about domestic abuse or people blindly going through life, and Lewis telling them to open their eyes to the pain in this world.

Of course, no comment of mine would be complete without a Bible verse: John 13:34,35 - (Jesus says) "A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."

KoЯn – Blind Lyrics 22 years ago
I'll settle this once and for all. The meaning of this song came from http://www.thekornkrop.com/meanings/korn.html. And here it is:
A reference to Jonathan's drug use during his early years.
"Another place I find to escape the pain inside"
The drugs controlled his life. They provided an escape from the pain he endured as a young adult, and he couldn't see any future direction for himself.
"see through the grey that clouds my mind"
He wants to escape the confusion in his mind but his self esteem is so low that he is not confident enough to make change for himself. He wants to leave the world and start again but he doesn't know how, so he uses drugs to distort reality.
Well, I hope that was helpful to all of you. I agree with Captain Anarchy, because Davis seems to believe he's the only person in the world who deserves our pity. Well, we've all got our own problems, but we're not telling the whole world about it, now are we? My advice to Davis: just lose the drugs, stop being obsessed with meaningless sex, see a therapist, and find something positive to talk about, because life is only temporary.
(John 10:10): (Jesus says) "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."
And I think noface123 should be banned from this website for good, to say the very least.

Nirvana – Rape Me Lyrics 22 years ago
At first many people thought that this song was about Cobain advocating the r--ing of women, but that is not the case. There is no evidence in the song that he's taking the role of a woman, and the title of the song is "r--- me."
In Kurt's words, the song is a sort of poetic justice. A guy r---s a girl, he ends up in jail, and is r--ed there. But when he added a few extra words to the song, it referred to Kurt being r--ed by the press; about the false exposures of him, his wife, and his band by journalists for publicity stunts. Other possible meanings are about being judged or that it reflects Kurt's dark attitude about feeling like a wasted existence.
So now I've done the math: 84 comments posted, 29 different words in the song. It's amazing how much one can affect others with so few words. The moral of all this is don't believe everything you hear.
"God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, THAT THOU MIGHTEST BE JUSTIFIED IN THY SAYINGS, AND MIGHTEST OVERCOME WHEN THOU ART JUDGED." (Romans 3:4, King James Bible)

Linkin Park – In The End Lyrics 23 years ago
What caused this page to get so wide that it's so hard to read all of the comments? Anyway, I think this band is overrated, the singer sounds like a 12 year old trying to sound like Kurt Cobain, and anyone could come up with lyrics like those in their songs. (This band makes statements like: "Shut up when I'm talking to you," "I'm about to break," "so insecure," "I cannot take this anymore," "find a way to disappear," and "I want to run away, never say good-bye." WOW!) Their music isn't so bad (though it sounds like it's been done many times before), and their rapper is pretty good. In other words, they are better than Limp Bizkit or Marshall Mathers. Still, it seems like most of these rock stars/rappers need to see a therapist ASAP; all they seem to care about these days is spreading their (supposedly real) pain or gross sense of humor. Life is just too short to be dwelling on your problems. And when you're living on your own, possibly married, it's time to grow up! Do yourselves a favor and listen to more mature bands like Juliana Theory, U2, Coldplay, Creed, and Lifehouse. Hopefully I got this all in one line!

Has anyone else read this web page besides me?:
http://www.av1611.org/crock/pod.html
If you haven't, any Christian listening to this band should look at it to understand that the group does NOT like to be labeled Christian. Believe me, I was shocked when I found and read this long but important article. Also, I found that if you type in P.O.D. at http://www.artistdirect.com/ , one of the results is "Prince Of Darkness." Be careful what you listen to; I've learned that the hard way! Just view the pages http://www.family.org/pplace/pi/allmusic/ and http://www.av1611.org/why.html. Also, study the King James Bible because it is the only version that is accurate. Don't believe me? Just look at this web page: http://www.av1611.org/wash.html.

Staind – Waste Lyrics 23 years ago
This is one of my most favorite songs from Staind.
For the latest on Staind, check out these websites:

and

I believe Aaron Lewis is going to be a great father, because he understands what it is like to be in a dysfunctional family. I'm sure he won't let his daughter know how it is to grow up like that, knowing how isolated, angry, and depressed he was while he was growing up. Staind's new album, 14 Shades of Grey, is due out May 20. I just wish he would become a Christian, because he seems to be a great person, better than any classmates I've ever known from my Baptist Church. Read this page,
http://www.av1611.org/rock/ozzy.html
starting with the THE TRUTH IS. . . headline. Anyone can be saved by praying the prayer towards the bottom of that same page.
Now, back to the song. Aaron Lewis describes what it was like to be suicidal, and mentions that he's "tasted the cold steel of my life crashing down before me," which means he's gone so far as to stick a gun barrel in his mouth. He's stated once before that "if you dwell on how terrible your life is, it'll forever remain terrible," and doing something like that is a waste of one's life. He makes a great point on this song: "I've had doubts, I have failed, I've #@%&ed up, I've had plans, doesn't mean I should take my life with my own hands!" No matter what problems you've had or caused, suicide is NEVER the answer, because it is a selfish act, as well as the coward's way out. The only thing I don't like about this song is that I believe he could have found a better way to express his anger about suicide than saying the f- word five times in twelve seconds. Even on the "clean" version, it still sticks out because of the blanks that remain. I'm not saying I'm perfect; in fact, Aaron Lewis probably explained that, suicide is not the answer, better than anyone else in this world. Live life the best you can, and "have strength in your heart to pull through!"

KoЯn – Good God Lyrics 23 years ago
"It's about a guy I knew in school who I thought was my friend, but who #@%&ed me. He came into my life with nothing, hung out at my house, lived off me, and made me do $&!% I didn't really want to do. I was into new romantic music and he was a mod, and he'd tell me if I didn't dress like a mod he wouldn't be my friend anymore. Whenever I had plans to go on a date with a (girl) he'd sabotage it, because he didn't have a date or nothing. He was a gutless #@%&ing nothing. I haven't talked to him for years." - Jonathan Davis

I can't stand people like those who tend to take advantage of others (see Here To Stay, Correct Version, meanings). He puts so much emotion into most of his songs, it seems like he actually feels what he's saying. But the title of the song is either blasphemous, or makes it seem as though he is blaming the Lord for an empty existence. I'm not saying that this didn't happen to him, but could Jon have used the above meaning to justify what he's saying? It's hard to tell. Why am I even giving my comments about this song?!
Just remember one thing: Jesus loves you!

KoЯn – Beat It Upright Lyrics 23 years ago
"It's a booty song, you know, talking about freaky sex, or whatever." –Fieldy

I guess they really are obsessed. I own the "clean" version of Untouchables and it doesn't have this track, which honors sadomasochism (the derivation of pleasure from the infliction of physical or mental pain either on others or on oneself), in the album. But I'm still thinking about getting rid of the CD, which is dominated by hopelessness. I used to crave to listen to these violent types of songs, and I don't like the person I've become. The only good songs on Untouchables are Alone I Break, I'm Hiding, and No One's There. Other than that, there are better groups to hear!

"I mean, basically this whole song is about I've been hating everything for so long, and I think that's just basically negative energy that I've been just putting out." –Jonathan Davis

It probably means he dislikes everything he sees for so long, but I'm not sure if he means using self-control to hide it.

KoЯn – Here To Stay Lyrics 23 years ago
Since these are the "correct" lyrics to the song, I've got the correct meaning of the song from Davis himself:
"Here To Stay is basically about being fed up with people taking advantage of you. I wrote it when being angry of basically being born a nice guy. Nice people always get taken advantage of. And lashing out basically I'm tired of this and I'm not going to let you do this to me, I'm here and I want to be this way."

Well, I guess I can relate to this statement, since I am a Christian and a nice person. People would always take supplies from me in school when I was doing an assignment, and because of that, I couldn't get anything done. My classmates were always picking on me even though I never caused them any harm, and yet they expected me to help them. They also told me that I should try to blend in with everyone else by wearing the same clothes or doing my hair the same way they do. I'm so tired of all these "social levels" that students depend upon; why can't we all just get along and be responsible for our actions?

Staind – Four Walls Lyrics 23 years ago
This song appears to be about a person who addresses another, but he is actually talking to himself. He can’t stand his way of life and feels he has nothing left to offer, so he wants to take his own life. Throughout the song, he is implying that he needs help and begs for sanity. He is so depressed that he states, “There’s nothing left for me” and a gunshot is heard at the end of the song, which makes it appear as though he just committed suicide.

After about ten minutes, a “hidden track” begins with sounds of organ music, and people are moving around and coughing in a large church. The occasion is a funeral. Selections from the Scriptures and a funeral prayer to the gathered living are read. After that, the speaking becomes incomprehensible and demonic sounding voices. I think this indicates the suicide victim’s descent into hell.

Psalm 121:
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

Psalm 23:
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Funeral prayer:
Oh God, who art full of compassion, thou who dwellest on high. Grant perfect rest beneath the shelter of thy divine presence. In the exalted places among the holy and the pure who shine as the brightness of the firmament to all those who have gone to their eternal home. The piety of whose life forms the subject of our meditation today. We beseech thee oh Lord with compassion. Shelter them evermore under the cover of thy wings and let their souls be bound up with bond of life. May they repose in peace, may they rest in peace, and let us say Amen.

Staind – Can't Believe Lyrics 23 years ago
To metallaci: You seem to have put alot of effort into your remix. The meaning of it is unclear, but it seems like more whining about your parents just trying to be good parents. Or if it's about your girlfriend, just break up with her.
The meaning of the original song from Aaron Lewis himself:
"'Can't Believe' is a reply to the blatant disrespect for human beings that I see every night at our shows. It's like f@%&ing 'Lord Of The Flies' sometimes. I see little 12, 13 year old girls basically getting r@%ed on top of the crowd, getting their clothes torn off them, clutching themselves. Just terrible, terrible s&!% that I see. Just blatant disrespect for the people around you. You know it's somebody's little sister, it's somebody's daughter. Where the f@%& did you come up with the idea that you think it's okay to do that just because you're at a concert? It goes to show that the most important job in the whole world, which is being a parent, has been completely forgotten about. People have forgotten how to be parents. That's like the beginning of the end. You wait. If s&!% doesn't change, you wait and see what it's like in 20 years."
This is the perfect way to describe what goes on at concerts. Why do people use rock music as an excuse to r@%< a girl that just happens to be standing near them? I do agree that it's just going to get worse in the next several years unless people shape up and learn how to teach their kids how to respect others. As a matter of fact, I believe married couples should be put through tests to see if they are capable of raising a child. That's one way to make a difference in everyone's lives.

Staind – Suffocate Lyrics 23 years ago
Lewis believes his cry for redemption can somehow be answered by another human being. He explores sexual and emotional intimacy: "Lie in bed to take your clothes off Show me what you're made of Just to soothe me... Please believe you'll save me, rearrange me I can feel your feelings running through me Take away my sorrow my tomorrow Heal me." But the chorus shows the futility of seeking, in an earthly source, the healing that only comes from heaven: "Leave me here I'm dying Just kicked me in my face All alone and crying I suffocate."
I got the meanings of this song directly from this website:
www.cpyu.org/news/01winth.htm
It has the meanings of every Staind song ever made through Break The Cycle. As you can see, almost none of his songs are about a bad relationship with his girlfriend but rather his parents' problems while he was growing up. Lewis said they split up and got back together like 7 or 8 times. I can't believe some people actually say divorce is good for the kids. My parents haven't, so I should be somewhat lucky.
Those 5 comments above mine aren't exactly what I would call contributions!

KoЯn – Wake Up Lyrics 23 years ago
I think this is what Jon would be saying if he happened to be the leader of the military during war. He wonders why there is always so much fighting in this world, and states, "You are my brothers, each one I would die for." He just wishes the enemies would just wake up and just let it go. But he'd rather just surrender and die than fight through or try to put the conflict to an end. The statement "Remember what we play for" means he'd be telling the remaining soldiers to remember what they stand for but to just give up, which is why I'm glad he won't run for President.

KoЯn – Wake Up Hate Lyrics 23 years ago
I found what Jon was saying about this song:
"The whole song is a f@%&-off. It's a song about feeling hopeless - how kids have no reason to live anymore. What do they have to f@%&ing live for? Back when I was growing up there were lots of opportunities for kids that seem to have fallen off. They skirt through school and get meaningless jobs or just go kill people and rob and s&!%. It's about starting a riot - really f@%&ing rebelling."
Somehow this song and others like this make me want to break everything and wonder what I have to live for. This critical attitude made my life even worse than it already was, so now I listen to songs that are more optimistic and I don't feel anymore of this rage inside of me. I guess music really does influence me.

KoЯn – Bottled Up Inside Lyrics 23 years ago
He's talking to the same person he sung about in "Daddy". It seems to be tormenting him over and over again. He knows that he can't keep it inside forever, yet he feels no one hears him. The damage caused by the r*** in his childhood won't go away. The person enjoyed watching him struggle as he was tied down, and he will always hate him for that. Because Jon's parents never believed him, he wants to seek revenge against the r**ist on his own. Even if he doesn't get his vengeance, at least he let it all out so that he doesn't lose his sanity...

Acc. to Aaron Lewis:
"Wake up and look around you and see what the f**k is going on. The more you see, the more you do, the television's feeding you with what you want to hear, anger and fear, because we suffer. One of the many cycles in life that just continue going around in cycles unless they're broken."
