Maybe she´s a drug addict and talks him into using it too (fifteen stitches and a soft parody), although he doesn´t really want to. Being on drugs he seems to be happy, but it´s deceit. "believe the sting proves heart to me" - it´s a destructive relationship and it´s hurting him. But he sticks to her because he thinks, that this pain that he feels proves that he cares about her. Verse2: I always thought he sings "it´s okay, I will join" instead of "dislocated at the joint". Basically she´s not really there when he´s around. She might be high and sleeping (to keep away). "Then sink your teeth" could be a metapher to a kiss when she leaves (and bat your eyes). Like a vampire she´s getting sth out of him when kissing him. |

I also think it´s about obsessive behaviour. Maybe a post break up song and how he is struggling with it. He only felt alive when she was around, so he wants to own her. To me it´s also an egoistic song, as he doesn´t really care about her. The line "You are one commodity" shows it. "I´m in control of everything, it´s taken time but that´s okay. I can bring you to my side" I believe that he knows that it´s over, but doesn´t want to let go. He needs this to have a connection so he gives himself time. And it´s bringing him down. When singing "You´re my blessing in disguise" he justifies all of it and himself. She´s his blessing, he needs her, but at the same time she bringing him down - so she´s a blessing in disguise |
