Maroon 5 – Harder To Breathe Lyrics 21 years ago
I percieve this song to be that the narrator feels trapped in a relationship. He has deep feelings for the other person, even though they're not treating them that well. Now the tables have turned, and it's hurting him more than it's hurting her.

Switchfoot – Let That Be Enough Lyrics 21 years ago
icas, i love your description. This song is my anthem. I want to be myself, and on my own, but i feel so desperate sometimes. Anything good that has strolled my way has collapsed just as Jon's sandcastle. It seems that any luck i might have stumbled across is gone just as soon as it fell into my lap. I see it as a simple call to those i love, to let me know that they care about me, but let me be me.

Switchfoot – Chem 6a Lyrics 21 years ago
I had the privilage of speaking to Jon at a rather informal concert several years back, and he told me about writing this song. He was irritated in his Chemistry class, and had no desire to take it. "It's all wrong, but it's all right," speaks that sitting in a desk (cubicle, or office, depending on your situation), is not how we were made to spend our lives. It is all right, though; what goes up must come down. He doesn't want to be caught up in a stuff room when he can be out and enjoying other things in life. :)

Switchfoot – Dare You To Move Lyrics 21 years ago
I have always related this song to a bad day. When i've had a hard day, i tend to want to lay in bed, and never leave that comfort. I found this song to be a challenge, to not let the toils and troubles of this world drag you down, but to keep going stronger than ever. "I dare you to lift yourself off of the floor" is a strong line for me; depression can bring you to the lowest depths of your feelings and emotions, and he's telling us that while it's ok to show sorrow, don't let it keep you where you are.

Switchfoot – Life And Love And Why Lyrics 21 years ago
In my humble opinion, i that when Jon wrote this, he was thinking about ending his life. "Child adult then die / All of your hoping and all of your searching for what?" speaks of the hopelessness often encountered in life. But he has found hope, and wants nothing more than to loose the darker feelings mentioned during the verses. This is my personal favorite Switchfoot song, and has helped me through many, many tough times.

Switchfoot – New Way To Be Human Lyrics 21 years ago
In my humble opinion, this song is about how easy it is to be whoever you want to be, and not in the most positive light. With a simple change of clothing, you can be percieved as an entirely different person. One outfit can change your apperance, and how others think of you. "it's a race to be noticed and it's leaving us numb" and "with all of our fashion we're still incomplete" speaks that, no matter what our exteriors show, there's a deeper part of us that is being ignored. There's a new way to be someone, all you have to do is ignore who you were before.
