Ben Folds Five – The Miracle After Lyrics 21 years ago
if anyone has any theories on the phrase starting with, "sitting on the steps I listen while you sin," I'm having difficulty making up my mind with that line. So if anyone else has some ideas PLEASE leave a comment.

Ben Folds Five – Don't Change Your Plans Lyrics 21 years ago
tropicalia3 and libalotta....you guys (sorry...people) Rock! You're exactly right. The only thing that confuses some people with the whole "death" issue in this song are the lines, "I know we've been together many times before, I'll see you on the other side" What he means by that is he and this girl have been together in multiple past lives. So if he seems like he doesn't really love her that's not true, because he knows that he'll see her again no matter what. he doesn't live completely in this life. And from what I've heard and read that's exactly like Ben Folds. I'm not positive about this song because there is one that I find a little similar. It's kinda the same base story, but there's very different feelings behind each song. You should look into it if you're curious. It's called The Miracle After. He talks about leaving with everything in his truck. It's interesting because maybe this is something that really happened. Who knows...oh well...it's fun to think about way too early in the morning!

Ben Folds Five – Evaporated Lyrics 21 years ago
Brick is not Ben's best song. PLEASE if you believe that it is BUY THE REST OF HIS ALBUMS!!!! I love brick, but...everybody thinks it's great because it was the only song that really topped the charts. That's the song that got everybody interrested in Ben Fold's, but he and Darren and Robert have so much more to offer, but everyone is so hung up on Brick. Please take my advice and get your hands on everything that they've done. This song in itself is so much more beautiful and poetic as compared to brick. just thought I'd ramble some more. I'm done now.

Ben Folds Five – Magic Lyrics 21 years ago
Great song. Darren Jesse said that it was inspired by a family member dying of a bad disease. I could be wrong, but I think that it was cancer. If you've ever experienced anything like that with a loved one this song makes you bawl everytime that you hear it. He is trying to find peace and understanding in death. It's a beautiful song with one of the most basic instincts of humanity. Whenever someone dies we ask why, but Jesse is saying that this person was done with life on earth. They were too sick to ever be the same person in their mortal body, so now they're an angel dancing under the stars. It's comforting to hear when you're thinking of lost loved ones. Thank you Darren Jesse!!!

The Cardigans – Deuce Lyrics 21 years ago
This is the sexiest and bitterest "you bastered you dumped me" song that I've ever heard before!!! I love the Cardigans!! They have that ability to make totally submissive music, OR SO IT SEEMS...it's still seems to me that she holds the control in the relationship. He dumped her and even though everything that she's saying is the exact opposite, she's totally over it. "I'll be gone" she's not going to hang around and dwell on it. She's out of here. bye bye.

Alannah Myles – Black Velvet Lyrics 21 years ago
duh it's about Elvis. Not only because it mentions a song that he sings, but it sets it up from the start. Jimmy Rogers is playing on the radio. Do we usually hear him now? Nope. but in the time when Elvis was little we would. Also the way he danced was a sin. duh. listen to every word.

Cabaret – Two Ladies Lyrics 21 years ago
This song is even better if you see it in performance! I don't know what it's like in the movie, but on stage the second girl is a guy in drag. It's pretty raunchy, but one of my favorites nontheless.

Foo Fighters – Everlong Lyrics 21 years ago
Ahhh....the new age love song. God I love Dave Grohl. Who ever knew that a a mushy song at heart could also rock your ass off. I don't know if I'd say that Dave Grohl is a genius. Everyone has the best songs of their career. Who knows what we'll hear next from him. We can just be sure we haven't heard that last of him. I love it though how he just doesn't want to hear what Howard Stern says after he sang it acoustic for the first time ever. Howard was telling him that the song is just as good without the electronics...but Dave simply states, "I just gotta rock." Rock on Mr. Grohl!!! Wesley Willis was right about you. You are on our side with the Midas touch. Thank you for giving me the words that I coudn't never find to say to my fiance. And thank you even more for not making it such a pussy song. We all just gotta rock Dave! Make us proud Foo Fighters!!!

Ben Folds Five – Air Lyrics 21 years ago
Okay......where to start? I've listened to this song a billion times. I'm way to crazy about Ben Folds. I believe that there are two people who are talking in this song. The first stanza is spoken by the person who is drowning. The way that it sounds to me is that he and someone that he knew well were scuba diving. Now I know I sound like I'm just thinking about this way too much, but I scuba dive and I know for a fact that when you go out at night you take flurorescent lights with you and usually the boat shines some down too. This person that he's seeing "undoing his helmet" could be trying to get the drowning person his air tube. Also he talks of the sea life. Had he just fallen in or something like that he likely wouldn't see anything. The next verse is the other person he was diving with. He talks about pulling him out of the water and seeing himself reflected in his eyes. The buzzing that is mention could possibly the air still leaking out because that's what it does when you disconnect it to get someone else air. Also the heartmachine as mentioned in other comments wouldn't buzz it would beep (just my opinion). The last phrase is just the guy who drowned kinda coming to. He's obviously with people he knows. "A voice I know...." He knows the voice and if he knew the voice he would also know the "Dear". That's just my opinion of the song. I was very pleasantly surprised with this little ditty when I bought the Godzilla soundtrack. :) God I sound really cool!

Better Than Ezra – Extra Ordinary Lyrics 21 years ago
GREAT song. This is one of my favorites by Better Than Ezra. They are terrific! i don't know why they don't get more attention and recognition. It frustrates me! We have the fucking Backstreet boys topping the charts but barely anybody knows of Better Than Ezra. Not only are the better than this Ezra, but they're a hell of a lot better than many other bands who make way to much money for their redundant music.
