It's a sailors' sea shanty. I can imagine a dozen men roaring out this song as they fix rigging on an old-time sailing ship. The verse about Cape Horn is in a book by Brian Jaques called "Castaways of the Flying Dutchman". I love the fast harmonica parts! |

It's about a way of life ending. A man can't run the ferries anymore, because they aren't needed. But he knows that life will get better, and he asks his love to stand with him anyway. I love this song, even though it's sad. If someone loves you, they should stand by you, no matter what. |

| Gaelic Storm – Drink The Night Away Lyrics

In Ireland, before friends left for America, or another far away place, friends would throw an all-night party for those who were leaving. There would be plenty of drinking, dancing, and fun. It was a way for everyone to try to forget that people they loved were leaving. That's what this song is about: having fun before you go. |

This is one of my favorite songs! To me, it means that you've finally found the one person that you want to be with. And you'd do anything for them. I cried the first time I head it, when I was alone. It reminds me of my relationship with a friend who lives far away. I'll always be here. |
