referencing the kurt and courtney documentary? come on. that thing was complete crap. that british guy also did one on notorious b.i.g. and tupac because you know what? he'll make up crap about dead people because he wants $$. not a very good source. he interviewed courtney's father, a person who she doesn't even speak with, who knows nothing about her or her life. (he happens to be trying to make a buck off of her as well, writing a book on kurt-he's a greedy, worthless man.) he also interviewed some girl who claimed to know them, but had no proof, thus wasting the viewer's time, trying to distract us from the fact that he didn't have very good sources. the film was such bullshit i couldn't believe it. kurt used to shoot b.b.'s at some bank's window and he goes into the bank to interview the teller. what the heck? is that the best you can do? to anyone that fell for that crap, i pity you. you were played for a fool, and nick broomfield got his money. |

in response to "First of all, the lyrics in this song aren't up to par with the work of Hole in the past, as far as I'm concerned"-everyone is entitled to an opinon. But it should be mentioned that courtney love's album "america's sweetheart" was rated #15 in spin's exclusive 40 Best Albums of the Year, beating out morrissey, U2, eminem, and more.
I don't dispute the fact that
"Oh God you owe me one more song
So I can prove to you that
I'm so much better than him" could be about Kurt-she has publicly said that she thinks she's a better lyricist than Kurt, and he does get more credit-possibly because he's male, possibly because he died.
but she also said "I rarely write about about one theme or subject. I end up getting bored with that theme and write something else halfway through the rest of the song, and finish the song with a different idea.'--singing about wanting more credit for her lyrics has little to do with slashing tires...not to mention slashing tires has nothing to do with kurt's death..unless youre completely ignorant and know nothing about how kurt cobain died. (suicide- shot to the head)
it also should be mentioned that she has said
"If I write a song about being a teenage prostitute, that doesn't mean that I was a teenage prostitute, any more than it means Kurt raped Polly." --people-just because someone writes about something in a song doesn't mean they actually did it or that theyre singing about themselves.
if you don't believe Kurt was depressed, then you really don't know enough about about him to be making comments. it was pretty obvious. um...that courtney quote?? making up quotes to prove your case is pretty lame.
and bozothegeek, youre lucky you got to see her live, but she's not always loaded when she performs. as long as we're going to complain about that though, do you know how many rockstars perform drunk or high and get away with it? if you people really don't like courtney--then quit going to sites about her or her music. get a life. |

this is the coolest song. it's very underrated. it's so great and catchy and i like how she says "please baby rip 'em off" so you think its sexual-about taking off her clothes. but then you see the references to the clash (i hear london calling) and the ramones (hey gabba gabba hey) and you realize she's talking about male musicians ripping off older/other musicians. |

kristy72- have you been living under a rock or something for the past 10 years? everyone and their mom knows kurt cobain committed suicide by shooting himself in the head. courtney singing about car vandalism has nothing to do with kurt cobain's death. i don't think ive heard a dumber statement before. just because an artist will write a lyric about something doesnt mean they actually did it or will do it. sometimes i wonder how people can be so DENSE. |

razorblade....oh, please. it's been 10 years since Kurt died. Courtney has had many relationships since. not every lyric somehow has to do with kurt. besides, not every lyric should be taken so literally...im sure she hasnt slashed someones tires....if every musician did what they said in their songs i think that there would be alot of lawsuits. first off, if youre such a huge nirvana fan, then you should know better. if you've ever read "come as you are" or "heavier than heaven" you'd know that kurt was a very, very depressed guy. not to mention in "heavier than heaven" a diary entry of when he was a kid was found, saying "I'm going to be a superstar musician, kill myself, and go out in a flame of glory". if that doesnt change your mind, then there's the "cobain curse" in his family of past relatives having a history of committing suicide. not to mention how every cover song on mtv unplugged mentioned death, and how he designed the set to look like a funeral. not to mention his fascination with guns. to to mention his lyric "look on the bright side is suicide". this is a guy who, in interviews, would speak casually about "blowing his head off". what would courtney get out of killing him? what a jackass thing to say, razorblade. imagine if the love of your life committed suicide. i think you'd be devastated and forever changed and scarred. instead of accusing her like a witch hunt, i think you should respect how much she's accomplished despite having a rough childhood and a husband who committed suicide. she survived, she's come out with a great album, her child grew up fine, she's had a good acting career. instead of blaming courtney, you should blame kurt for being so selfish and leaving his child fatherless and leaving courtney to raise frances alone, while causing everyone that cared about him pain. he didn't die from a car accident. (why would her lyrics about slashing tires and bleeding brakes have anything to do with kurt's gunshot wound to the head?) you need to do your homework before you make such stupid statements. if you hate courtney, don't waste your time and courtney love fans' time by posting rude things. |

its not about sex at all! adams talking about a girl, who sounds like isnt quite a girlfriend because she hasnt given him a chance, and wont even try to like where he's from(north carolina, where he lived before new york) she cant even decide if she wants to be with him or 'keep [her] distance'. i think hes saying if she doesnt make up her mind quick, theyre just going to grow old with nothing happening between them, and miserable, because shes not budging an inch for him, and hes just frustrated. |

Dwell, Courtney Love is AWESOME and you just don't like her because she's a loud and smart woman that intimidates you. Besides, Brody is most definitely influenced by her since her voice is JUST like courtney's. Anyway i doubt this song has anything to do with courtney love. |
