it sounds like he's a commentator at a horse race or something. and he's using his heart, his body, his mind & his soul as "horse names".. i cant think of a good way to explain it. but you know at horse racers and theyre like "bob the horse is in the lead followed by joe.." etc etc, its like daryl doing that, but he's talking about himself and explaining how he feels inside (he uses his heart first, then his mind, then so on.. thats just how i interpret it..

GrinninVillain6... i got the cd that you have as well. i was just going to comment on that.. i think the one with the clear thing is like a special edition one with music videos & stuff on it. i was also confused because all the track listings for worship&tribute that i saw had 12 songs and a hidden track..but the one i bought only had 11 songs in all.. *confusion* |

first things first;
this song, along with every other track off of worship&tribute is just amazing. when i first listened to the cd after i bought it, this song was my instant favourite along with pink roses & two tabs of mescaline. anyways, i really agree on what people are saying about the religious aspects of this song, how people ("sheep") can be so easily led by another into believing anything...and also i agree with all the war/military/9-11 comments.. im not quite sure which of these are right. but maybe theyre both right..or maybe neither is right. who knows. daryl (& of course the rest of glassjaw) is just amazing. this record just blows me away just as eyewtkas & kkbb did..
secondly...
this whole glassjaw/nfg/boxcar/blink182/etcetcetc thing is oh so juvenile. id like to believe that gj fans are just a LITTLE more mature than this.. its music people.. come on. who CARES about genre or the "scene" music has more important components other than the label it is given. id like to think that people might be openminded enough to like a wide range of music & be appreciative of it all. just because nfg isnt "punk enough" for you, doesnt make them good. everything doesnt have to be fucking the government & put on your plaid pants. so-called punk isnt about that...to me its being able to say "fuck you" and having the freedom to be what you want. so stop all this nonsense about how so&so isnt good enough and blah blah blah.. everyone has their own musical taste. dont judge it. just deal with the fact that there are a billion bands out their to be heard..people will listen to whatever they want if they like it. *nod* |

i dont really think this song has much to do with actually nazis or racism or anything like that... i think that a "nazi halo" is something that is both horrible & beautiful at the same time. perhaps it was a person jessicka knew, or was in a relationship with, who had a side of evil, like a nazi, but wore a halo, like an angel. it could also very well be about facists, and society and such, but to me it kind of sounds like its about a two faced person who shows a "nazi halo" quality.. |

hrms.. all these people who are talking about this song not being cool because of the fact that it says some nasty things towards women on here, that kind of bothers me, because there are songs that have said MUCH worse about women (and people in general) like (and i hate the mention this on a glassjaw comment) eminem has a song about fucking raping his mother and killing his wife. and just because daryl calls a girl a "cunt" and a "whore" makes this song "uncool"? blah.. i dont know. i really like this song. too bad it's about a girl and not a guy :\ heh. i also think that lyrics are a way of people venting their frustrations, so just because daryl talks about beating someone doesnt mean he actually wants to do it. sometimes when people are in a rage they'll say things that pop into their head just because they're so angry. i mean, if i were good with words and writing lyrics i'd probably write a song about beating someone too.. but anyways, now i'm rambling, i really like this song. it has A LOT of emotion in it and it's very intense, the lyrics & the music is really good. hell, all of glassjaw is really good. the hidden song on the end of here is really good too. i always think of that song kind of like a response to this song... |

now normally i dont care for pink, or any so-called "pop" artist really, but i happened to hear this song one day and i actually left it on, and i ended up liking it. the part where she says "i said i tried to call the nurse again, but she's being a little bitch" completely ruins the whole song though :\ in my opinion. i really like how she's comparing a boy to a drug. it really makes sense, and it's a really good comparison as well. like a boy who is so addicting, yet is completely bad for you. anyways, im rambling, but i do happen to enjoy this song. |

it's human waste project. on like kazaa and music downloading programs like that people have said it was korn and joj, korn and kittie, korn and bif naked..and a bunch of other female bands/singers, but it is in fact aimee echo of human waste project & korn. not kittie. not joj. just because kittie is "famous" doesn't mean it's kittie singing this song. theres a line that says "human waste is in the house" so that's kind of proff that it's hwp and not kittie or anyone else.. |

ok, i'm going to do the worst possible thing right now. i'm about to compare blink-182 to box car racer. now i know that you really shouldn't compare the two [although boxcar contains two thirds of blink-182] because they are both very different. but while listening to tom's voice on blink cds i usually get happy and hyper and such [except for on the slower, sadder songs] but on like every boxcar song, tom's voice sounds so..i dont know.. heartfelt, that it makes me cry. heh. i'm such a dork, but it's true. this song, there is & letters to god are mostly the ones that get to me, but the rest [even the more up-tempo ones] make me teary. |

first of all, i'm sick of seeing people bash this song because it is "pop punk". who cares what kind of music it is. fuck labels. it's music people, if you like it, you like it. if you don't, you don't. oh well. i dont think this song, or any song for that matter, needs to have a certain label for you to enjoy it. if you happen to like a song, regardless of it's genre, that's your own opinion. i happen to like this song because the lyrics are amazing. and the song is extremely catchy. but to all you people who think you are so much better because you like "real" punk, get over yourselves. who cares. to me, punk also includes having an open mind, and by being critical of other types of music you arent being very open minded now are you? get some variety. |

blah i hate all this "selling out" business. i hate when people think a band has "sold out" because they became big. im not an mtv fan, hell, i dont even get the mtv channel, but i don't bash a band just because they've been on mtv. i dont dislike bands if they change their sound either. i believe in being eclectic, so i'll try anything once. ive been a fan of blink182 since i was nine. they arent so much one of my favourite bands anymore, but i still respect/admire all the work they do. anyone on here who decides to bash blink182 because of the fact that they apparently "sold out" needs to stop and think. what if your poured your soul out into a song, and said what was on your mind, and people completely ripped it apart because it wasnt "punk enough" for them? music is music. who cares whos more punk, who cares if you like a band whos, god forbid, popular? *gasp* i hate labels, and i hate when people make a big deal out of labelling other people. i dont consider myself punk, i dont consider myself anything. im just me. im a giant clash of a whole bunch of things mixed together. the fact that you are some big, special "punk rocker" because you know who the ramones or the sex pistols are, doesnt make you any better than anyone else. people will have their own tastes no matter what. k..hah this is longer than i intended. i probably sound like a rambling moron, but that has been on my mind. i cannot stand close minded people. |

i love this song so much. i love how it's like, throughout the whole album words of hatred & anger are tossed about towards this girl, and then in this song, he's saying "even though you've hurt me so much, i still love you, and although i've been showing my anger, this is my chance to tell you i still love you" in a way... that's just how i think about it. this song is so sad though :\ i love it. |

some people were discussing the three versions of the cd a few posts ago, im not sure if this was said, but there's a way to tell which cd you are getting. when i bought it i just picked up a copy but i found out how to tell. if you look close there is a sticker on the cover and the "take off" (airplane) version has a red sticker with travis' silhouette on it, the "pants" version will have a yellow sticker with tom's silhouette on it, and the "jacket" version has a green sticker with mark's silhouette on it. *nod* |

it depends what version it is. the version that's on "sexless demons and scars" it says "stab stab stab". thats the version with the "momma's apple pie.." line. there's another remixed version that has "tear them down" instead of "stab stab stab" and it doesnt have the apple pie line. *nod* |
