Mineral – If I Could Lyrics 17 years ago
I used to love this song in high school, these days I have to skip it when I'm listening to the Power of Failing, 'cause the lyrics are kinda embarrassing at times.

Mineral – Palisade Lyrics 17 years ago
Probably my favourite song of all time. Recently covered it with my band for a friend's birthday, just about the most fun I've ever had.

The Promise Ring – Heart Of A Broken Story Lyrics 21 years ago
Well the title comes from a Salinger short story, but the lyrical content itself seems to bear no relation to said story. Similar mood though.

The Promise Ring – Forget Me Lyrics 21 years ago
After first reading "Daddy" a week or so ago and immediately noticing phrases I'd heard in Promise Ring lyrics I had a look round the net for anything TPR may have said about the use of Plath-derived lyrics, but the closest I came to finding any answers was an interview in which Davey said something about liking to "borrow" lines from various sources. So, my search for meanings eventually led me here, and it looks like everyone's as puzzled as me... :P

The Promise Ring – A Broken Tenor Lyrics 21 years ago
As someone already mentioned in the comments for "Forget Me", there is a line in this song that appears to be derived from the Sylvia Plath poem "Daddy". In the poem, the line is "In the German tongue, in the Polish town", while the line in the song is "to a polish town in german tongues". The use of this line is rather puzzling in this song, as the mood of the poem itself is dark, whereas this song is rather happy.
