| The Wallflowers – Heroes (David Bowie cover) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| it's two people one opposite sides of the berlin, oppressed by the government, but there's strong connection of love, so even if they are forever held down by the communists, they're gonna have one day they'll always hold on to | |
| The Wallflowers – Angel On My Bike Lyrics | 20 years ago |
she's the girl that brought him out of a deep depression, "She found me down on a two ton anchor Tangled up in wire" a depression that was continually spiraling downward (as it often does) but then she came along, but now she's also with somebody else, but perhaps she doesn't want to be? so he's going after her |

| Foo Fighters – Everlong Lyrics | 20 years ago |
ever notice how there's those songs that you'll not be intently listening to, then right when the song comes to a climax you find yourself air-drumming/guitaring/singing to? yeah this is one of those songs |
| Metallica – The Unnamed Feeling Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| basically what everybody else has said already. that dark depressed angered mood ya get when a girl/guy gives ya the outta nowhere emotional kick to the groin. you think ya should've seen it coming. and it's the feeling that basically starts the "emotional barrier" everybody has on some level. the unnamed feeling is the start of the barrier. it's not YOU putting up the barrier, it's the feeling. | |
| Reel Big Fish – Cheer Up! Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| they're saying essentially "shut up emo kid, nobody cares. yeah life sucks but oh well." and it's friggin great | |
| Bob Schneider – I'm Good Now Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| this is just one fun song. it's a sad song if you read the lyrics, but if you just sing it and enjoy it's a great song. but basically it's just about goin to mexico escaping an old life but it eventually catching up to you. almost like the song "road goes on forever but the party never ends" | |
| Bob Schneider – 2002 Lyrics | 20 years ago |
wow. i'm actually excited that i found bob on songmeanings.net, i figured he was far too underground still. but on with the interpretation it's a great song. it's that classic "i don't need you i'm doing just fine" intro, but when he starts to break the facade. the hurting and broken person under neath is shown in the light. it's not a plea for her return, it's almost mainly a matter of fact statement. |
| Peter, Paul and Mary – Don't Think Twice, It's All Right (Bob Dylan cover) Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| it's a song about a couple who's just decided to end it. they've been fighting for on and on and he's just tired and giving up. he's moving on. he can't go on any further. | |
| Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers – God Gave Me A Gun Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| if this doesn't scream anti-war i don't know what does. he's talking about how humans tend to think that some how we're justified in killing beyond just what we need to survive. it's the "might is right" theory, that the person in power some how feels justified to use justified because "god" gave it to them. | |
| Eagles – Already Gone Lyrics | 22 years ago |
this song is all about a girl that's trying to hold him down. and he's getting away from here. she's only holding him back and gettin him down. but he's already gone! |
| The Wallflowers – Laughing Out Loud Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| it's kinda that "screw you" to some chic that probably screwed him over and kept him on a leash. he's finally realized he's better than that and he's just laughing at her now b/c she wants him back. | |
| Weezer – Across The Sea Lyrics | 22 years ago |
bands can only come out with kick ass albums time in a string on a row. once sometimes twice is generally the norm. thrice is damn good. and the only band to it every single time was the beatles. and well, that's why they're the beatles. but if weezer keeps it up pretty well i can see them becoming a very strong candidate for songs that will last longer than when they're hip. |
| The Rolling Stones – You Can't Always Get What You Want Lyrics | 22 years ago |
from what i understand this song was supposed to be about the political climate at the time. don't ask me why but that's just what iheard. and this song means to me when i'm bummin and it makes me wanna dance a jig of some sort. ya can't really listen to this entire song and still be sad after hearing it. |
| Metallica – Astronomy (Blue Öyster Cult cover) Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| this song is so wickedly dark. i love it. i just keep picturing some slightly crazed guy walking on a beach... | |
| Emilíana Torrini – Old Man And Miss Beautiful Lyrics | 22 years ago |
sometimes i think this song is about a grandfather and his like granddaughter or something... but then sometimes i think it's some old guy who's fallen in "love" with a hott young chic that she doesn't know that he has the hots for her. or yet again it's some sick twisted guy... still great though, i keep picturing some kinda emotion from the symphonic part at the end |
| Godsmack – I Stand Alone Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| this song was so good it could stand on it's own. it didn't need to "help" the scorpion king. it prolly made that movie better. i remember being hurt by the people i love and falling victim to the politics of baseball. and all i remember is just that feeling of utter hopelessnes. yet the only thought going through my mind was this song. | |
| Tom Petty – The Last DJ Lyrics | 22 years ago |
he's right though. clearchannel owns almost 75% of the communication across all of america? it's all such bullshit. no more unique voices instead we're drowned out by some "cool" cronie who sucked the dick of the boss to score some points just to play the same songs over and over and over. hell i turned on the radio four nights in a row at the same time every time and it was the same song every time. right-o tom petty! |
| Rage Against the Machine – Renegades of Funk (Afrika Bambaataa cover) Lyrics | 22 years ago |
i think the song is more a tribute to the people that have constantly gone against the flow all in the name of right... i so wish i could hear what zach would sing if RATM was still around today... |
| Led Zeppelin – Babe I'm Gonna Leave You Lyrics | 22 years ago |

| Led Zeppelin – You Shook Me Lyrics | 22 years ago |
this song just plain rocks. it's got such a great bluesy sound to it. zeppelin is great at bringing you into their songs then grabbign you by the nuts and you're on the edge of your seat listening to it. |
| Dave Matthews Band – Don't Drink the Water Lyrics | 22 years ago |
good song. go check out "the last resort" by the eagles. i'd say dave got the inspiration for his song from the eagles tune |
| Eagles – The Last Resort Lyrics | 22 years ago |
if you've ever seen the video for "hell freezes over" he basically explains it. in that he says "everybody talks about how the west was won... this is about how the west was lost" Somebody laid the mountains low while the town got high great lyric in that they're losing sight of the beauty that is nature and becoming more consumed with the human elements. Some rich men came and raped the land, Nobody caught 'em Put up a bunch of ugly boxes, and Jesus, people bought 'em And they called it paradise The place to be They watched the hazy sun, sinking in the sea he's talking about how california has a beautiful scenery and yet some rich guy went out there and built and colonized the coast basically and now the pollution clouds the site. And you can see them there, On Sunday morning They stand up and sing about what it's like up there They call it paradise I don't know why You call someplace paradise, kiss it goodbye think about this one for a moment. how many times have there been said that some place is "paradise". heaven is the only place we haven't gone in and build "ugly boxes" i think dave matthews band got his inspiration for "don't drink the water" from this song |
| Joe Cocker – With A Little Help From My Friends Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| the beatles said this was the only cover of any song that anybody ever did that they approved of and liked. | |
| The Beatles – A Day in the Life Lyrics | 22 years ago |
this is possibly one of the best songs the beatles ever did. it's got all kindsa deep meanings and then mccartney comes in with his really lightweight riff. i think it's just a day in the life of two different people. hince lennon and mccartney singin two different songs but with the same beat and what not. and the ending to it was just to blow everbody away with the greatness of the album |
| The Who – Won't Get Fooled Again Lyrics | 22 years ago |
this has got to be one of the greatest rock songs ever. if not the greatest drum and organ solo ever. kinda like what's going right now with iraq. the people's lives won't change dramatically. sure a few things will change *hopefully for the better* but nothing amazingly great. but on a song related note, every time i hear it i crank up the volume as loud as i can tolerate and just rock out, especcially when it gets to the solos. man this song just perfectly echo's what's happening right now. and it was a hit 20+ years ago! |
| Nickel Creek – The Lighthouse's Tale Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| this song means a helluva lot. it is a very beautiful song while also being so tragic. it's definietely one of the best songs i've ever heard. | |
| AC/DC – You Shook Me All Night Long Lyrics | 23 years ago |
he's singin about a chic who gave him a great lay. it's still one of the best damned singing songs and overall feel good songs there is. |
| Moby – Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad? Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| ya know that feeling ya get after a relationship that made you so incredibly happy... just ended? i've been there... he's trying to explain how when we all ask ourselves "why" and "what happened" "where'd i go wrong" and so "why does my heart feel so bad?" is a summation of all that. but then in the end... you'll find love again and how a new door has been opened now... | |
| 311 – Use Of Time Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| personally, i liked this song because it just had a very good feeling to it. then i listened to the lyrics and it occured to me that really he's singin about two people in a relationship want to make it work but secretly they both know it won't work. so it's just was waste of both their time. | |
