| Well here is how I would break it down. The singer in this song is reaching out to a girl who has decided to leave him. He is trying to understand why she has decided to leave him, because in his mind she will regret her decision (the regret...will start to show...you won't forget my name). He tries to blame it on her personality and then decides that maybe it was something he did to her. All in all he is very perplexed. I've been there, so I can relate to what he's trying to get at. | |

| At first I thought that the REM song was Everybody Hurts, but that is more than 3:30 mins. It is probably just a song that they loved to sing to by the beach. I had an experience similar to this. Kirsten, this girl who i had met a few times through a friend, and I started singin What I Got by Sublime on this trip to the lake. A week later she was dead from an OD. She wasn't a close friend, but it was tough. I total relate to what this song is about and it is even more special than when I first heard it. | |

| What a song! It is no secret that Dave is somewhat of a tortured soul. He has been blessed with a great talent and great career, but he has a curse with his battle with substance addiction. This song really gets me going and touches me to the soul. Grey Street and Bartender are simply amazing and stand head and toe above any of the other songs on the album, which is saying something because I think this is their best stuff since Crash. | |

I can't help but think that this song has a more spiritual meaning behind it. I always got a sense that OLP was aetheistic, but this song really speaks to me as a born-again type message. "I'm sorry, I can't lie I'm wasting too much time Drowning I've been blind But I've opened up my eyes Sorry, I can't lie " This just screams a cry for forgiveness. Maybe I'm wrong. I don't know much about the bands spiritual beliefs if any. Maybe someone can enlighten me on this subject. God Bless! |

I was drawn to this discussion by someone who said it was a "great" discussion, but I must say that I am greatly disappointed with the majority of posts in here. Some of you are squabling like little preschoolers. Some of you need to learn to express yourself without uttering a cuss word every other word. You just may find that you are much more effective in getting your point across, also you sound more intelligent. As for the "pushiness" of christians and their message. I once felt the same way, but when the time came I opened my eyes and suddenly got it. Am I a perfect christian? Give me a break, no one is, and if they say they are then they aren't a Christian. We are all searching for our way through life. Some of us think that the best way to feel safe is to hide away, put up a front and shut out the truth, while others claim to embrace it, hoping that that will be just enough to save them from eternal damnation. Its a fear based society that we live in and that turns so many people off to a good message. As far as Reliant K is concerned, I love their lyrics and their message. They aren't pushy at all in my humble opinion, and they don't seem to be fake at all in songs like "For the Moments.." and "Less Is More". Well guys and gals, God bless and take care. |
