Nine Inch Nails – God Given Lyrics 18 years ago
One line in particular stands out a bit for me - "You don't wanna get left behind, cuz it's all comin' down right now."

For some reason, I can't help but hear this as, "The rapture is at hand - Go back to church."

Which would make perfect sense, coming right after "The Warning."

The next verse would also make sense in that respect, as they ultimately "ask [whoever] to leave" and say that he's not getting into The Promised Land.

Nine Inch Nails – The Beginning of the End Lyrics 18 years ago
I can't stop listening to this album, and I absolutely love the concept behind it - My views have been much of the same lately. This song is pretty self-explanatory when you hear it right after "Hyperpower!"

In my opinion, I'm hearing,

"We think we've come so far,
On all the lies we depend,
We've seen the consequence,
This is the beginning of the end."

But I could be mistaken...

Coldplay – White Shadows Lyrics 20 years ago
Personally, I find their lyrics to be a bit of a step up from before. I lost count of how many times he used the words "Singing Out" on Parachutes, but it really didn't bother me. Point being, this album itself seems to touch on a few more subjects than simply love and affection. Not that the first two albums didn't, but this one in general makes it a bit more obvious. That and it's interesting to see the way their music is changing, and in my opinion, it's for the better. But the first two albums will always be two of my favorites. It was just nice to see a change of mood in a few of the songs.

Coldplay – Warning Sign Lyrics 20 years ago
I used to consider Coldplay to be a guilty pleasure, but, y'know... Fuck that, this song, as are all the others by the band, is simply beautiful. And, like most of you here, I can completely relate. (At least, to Lighthearted's interpretation). Sort of a, "I was looking for a way out of a relationship that I thought was doomed, and in the end, realized how much I really love her."

Anyone who can write music that can evoke such emotion is awesome, to put it very simply.

Marilyn Manson – This Is The New Shit Lyrics 21 years ago
There are certain levels of being a fan of a group/person, so to say that I'm a "hardcore fan" of Marilyn Manson wouldn't be true, but I do characterise myself as a good fan of his music. I must admit, that this is my favorite song of his, for two reasons; 1) I find the meaning of the song to be utterly hilarious and I'm happy that someone finally had the guts to make the comment, and 2) This song admittedly rocks harder than shit. I know what KillMissAmerica is talking about, there used to be this girl that sat in the same area where I ate lunch when I was still in High School and she would go on and on about how she loves Marilyn Manson and wants to marry him. So I decided to play a trick on her and I opened up his biography to the artwork section to show his mugshot where he has no makeup on to see if she would say anything, and she did; She said, "Who's that?"

God DAMMIT, I hate people sometimes.

Insane Clown Posse – Slim Anus Lyrics 21 years ago
I'd just like to thank Cham Zord for reading the words above this text box. "What does this song mean to you?"

Really annoying seeing a group's immature 13-year-old army run to their side the moment someone makes a comment about them. "icp sux f4gg0tz" "u feminem luvin f4gg0t" You really don't look any better than the first person when your retort is using the same vocabulary. If some idiot is making fun of a group you like, who gives a shit? He doesn't like ICP, you don't like Eminem, you're even, shut the fuck up. Personally, I don't like either group. I'm not going to say they SUCK, because I've never seen either group freestyle, which is where the real talent is at, it's just not my personal taste. Both groups have had their share of decent songs. Quit being a whiny bitch about another artist/group because you're so retardedly following the mob mentality of YOUR favorite group. Grow the fuck up, shit. Marilyn Manson couldn't have said it better with "This Is The New Shit."

Oh yeah, and, uh, to me, this song is about...getting stung by a bee...

Wow... All I can say is, parents need to pay more attention to what their children listen to, judging by the maturity of some of the people here.

Tool – Intermission Lyrics 23 years ago
It would only make sense for this song to be a complete joke. Maynard himself said in some interview (forgot when it was) that he and his band are a bunch of Monty Python fans (he was trying to make another point). In "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" they threw in a completely random, short intermission for no point whatsoever, and Tool did the same. ;P
