i think this song is about a dysfuntional family. every one jabs their emotional pins into eachother...and when they dont they sharpen them in front of you to remind you not to lash out at them. we are all bound to eachother like that. whoever is the receiver of this torment gets drunk and mows his attackers down with a shotgun. the gin nubs him to he pins. |

i get out of this song is about getting caught in the mundane b.s. of your meaningless life and not experiencing anything witht he time you have. it gets to the point where you dont know if you can still go out and have fun anymore or you are just stuck being boring and your time to shine is out. it reminds me of the matrix...a bunch of people leading meaningless existences that aren't really alive. he is calling for someone to show hime what the world has to offer him once again so he can feel alive...so he can breathe |

to me...it seems like someone who has been down on their luck for some time, they've been traveling through a dark tunnel in their life so to speak. this kid finally gets a break and things start to look up for him, everything is falling into place after all his pain and suffering. he finally sees the light at the end of the tunnel. so excited is he that he "pay no mind to the distant thunder". the thunder ultimatley being the sound of the frieght train coming at him. by the time he realizes he is getting screwed again it is to late...the break he thought he had was his ruin. this is my favorite song as it perfeclty describes my life. every time i think i see something good about to happen i crash and burn... |
