Yes. I read in an interview that Keith said it was inspired by these stories of Russian soldiers who would suddenly just shoot themselves in the field. They couldn't handle the war (I'm assuming he meant WWII) and just ended it for themselves.

Anyone here who uses this song as a forum to Bash Bush is sick in the head. You have no idea where Jesse is coming from in this song. Its a song about the harsh reality of war, and have those close to you taken away. My brother is leaving for war soon. I fully support him and the cause, but God I wish there didnt have to be war. Its a neccessary evil and it sucks, and Jesse is commenting on it. Leave your elitist politcal opinions out of it. |
