Weird Al Yankovic – Like A Surgeon Lyrics 23 years ago
Can we stop with saying the song is a parody? We know more than half of Al's songs are parodies. You do not need to inform us.

Pink Floyd – Brain Damage Lyrics 23 years ago
Okay...I just want to say what I think this one verse thing is about. Cause my friends think I am strange for this view...but I just think they all are crazy.

"The lunatic is in my head
The lunatic is in my head
you raise the blade, you make the change
you rearrange me ' till I'm sane
you lock the door
and throw away the key
there's someone in my head but it's not me"

Basically, the "raise the blade" and "make the change" is saying to a doctor "Hey...you're giving me a lobotomy, aren't you?" And if you don't know what a lobotomy is, look it up sometime. "You rearange me till I'm sane" is about the doctors messing with his brain mentally and physically. Very interessting...I wonder, could it be in connection with Syd?

Oh, yeah, and the last lines, basically, is just someone being locked in a room, possibly believing that a crazy person is stuck in his head.

I do like the maniacle laughter in the middle of the song. It is very fitting.

Pink Floyd – Bike Lyrics 23 years ago
This song is just so funny. I love it for it's quirkiness and uniqueness. It really seems to have not much of a point whatsoever, except for perhaps the chorus. The chorus really does not fit, but I love it still. In short...good funny song.

Pink Floyd – Eclipse Lyrics 23 years ago
It could mean that. I can see that. I always thought it ment that with all the things that you can do...everything you have ever thought of or accomplished...everything...can change that quickly when the "sun is eclisped by the moon." Not litterally, of course, but just one little tiny insignificant thing can change everything about your life.

Oh, and I always thought it was "and all that you spite and everyone you fight." Of course, I could be wrong...that has happened on occasion.

Led Zeppelin – What Is and What Should Never Be Lyrics 23 years ago
Again, one of my favorite Zeppelin songs. I see it as a song about a man taking away a child or a young woman to a place to escape from reality. The castle is a dream, or a fantasy world in the girl's imagination.

"Then what's to stop us, pretty baby. But What Is And What Should Never Be"
Basically, the things in reality the girl see happening and does not want to see happening. This could range to a lot of different things.

"So if you wake up with the sunrise, and all your dreams are still as new,"
She has woken from her dream, and finds the dreams still fresh in her mind. The next line tells the girl, that if she wants what is in her dream or imagination, than she can find it in herself.

The chorus and the last stanza I haven't really given much thought to yet. But when I do, you can be sure that I will tell you all what I think it means.

Led Zeppelin – Tangerine Lyrics 23 years ago
Not a lot of lyrics...but beautiful lyrics none the less. I love this song. It is by far one of my favorite Led Zeppelin songs. Just the guitar alone makes the song worth listening to. I especially like the pause before he says/sings "And I do." That just seems to add to the song even more.

Led Zeppelin – Stairway to Heaven Lyrics 23 years ago
tictac...I would like to say this to you. The only reason why this song has been veiwed so many times is because it happens to be a very popular song. Now, I do not believe it is their best. Granted...it is a very good song. I enjoy it. I would, however, enjoy it more if people didn't go around raving completely about it all the time. This gets rather annoying. Also, the fact that it is one of the most requested songs ever, makes me not like it as much as I could. Because...I hear it over and over and over and over...and that is just plain annoying. It's like as bad as being trapped in an elevator with the little rinky dinky music all day. Just not fun.

I also am curious as to how many people who have posted here have listened to other Zeppelin songs, besides the cliche ones that everybody know. Really, it's like saying you are a die-hard Nirvana fan but the only song you really like is Smells Like Teen Spirit. Granted, I don't know Nirvana well, but I have heard some of their other stuff and by far Smells Like Teen Spirit is good but not the best.

Pink Floyd – Comfortably Numb Lyrics 23 years ago
See...how I always saw this song was as a sick or dying man that was in severe pain. The speaker at the beginning is a doctor or medic of some sort. Hense the "I need some information, first/Just the basic facts/Can you show me where it hurts."

The next stanza is, of course, the man in pain speaking. He is reliving a childhood experiance, perhaps the first time he was hurt or sick. At this point he is becoming so engroused in his feelings and the pain that it all just stops hurting. The only thing he can concentrait on is the childhood experiance that he has forgotten but is trying to grasp now. The first time he says comfortably numb means he has lost all sense of reality and is just in his mind, completely lost from the world and engrossed so much into this memory from his past.

Now, the next time the doctor speaks to him, he is giving him a shot, or fixing him in some way. In the line "That'll keep you going through the show" I believe that the "show" is either life, or going with the theme of The Wall album and movie, war.

The last stanza is of course, him recovering. But in a very different way. He still cannot hear the doctor at first, and is still in his memory. Slowly, though, the memory begins to fade and slip away from him. The second time he is "comfortably numb" is either because of the doctors drugs, the fact that he does not want to go on anymore, or a combination of the both.

But other than the doctors drugs...there are no drugs involved in this.
