Well, since I'm too lazy to read any more of these entries, I'll just post one of my own. The first few times I heard this song, I tried to figure it out, and then after seeing the video it became clear. Its about a nice guy who fell for a seemingly nice girl, only to find out that she is really two-faced, loving one minute, and a bitch the next. After laying his heart on the line and having it broken, he is finally standing up to her, and really bawling her out. Most of the song is really sarcastic, especially this line: "It must have been so bad, cause livin with me must have damn near killed you" He was the one who was being the good guy, and she damn near killed him. I actually heard an interview with Chad when they were in Winnipeg this year, and thats basically what he said too. |

First off, I cant believe no one has commented on the best rock and roll song of all time. I mean, all nationality biases aside (I'm a canuck), the first time you hear this song, it will knock you on your ass. As for the meaning, Its gotta be about a maturing person, wondering what happened to all the fun they used to have. New Orleans is (other than Winnipeg) the party capital of the world, and if its sinkin, where's the fun gonna go? |

I saw these guys in concert a few weeks ago here at University of Manitoba. They opened for Default, and they were great. I'd advise a dl of the acoustic version of Make Up Your Mind, its an amzing tune. Anyway, I'm thinkin this song is about a guy wantin to break it off from his girlfriend, but everytime he tries to do it, she says she loves him and he cant do it, "Those words get in the way" |
