Rage Against the Machine – Voice of the Voiceless Lyrics

Mattius82: First, in this nation we are innocent until proven guilty. There is no witness to prove that he did shoot the cop except the cop himself, who is dead. Second, why would Mumia put the incorrect bullets into his gun. The incedent was random. Mumia didn't plan to shoot the cop so, therefore, he couldn't use incorrect bullets to throw of the investigation. Also i have never heard of a gun that can fire different bullets other than the ones designed specifically for that firearm. I'm no balsitics expert so i could be wrong. There is no proof to verify that Mumia shot the cop. He's innocent. And lastly RATM is not confused or ignorant. Most of all politics in this world are matters of opinion. Don't lash out RATM because you don't agree with or understand them. Their politics are not inacurate. True, they only convey their side of the story, but every great debator or scholar does the same. RATM believes in the lyrics they sing, which is more than anyone can say for most of the other bands in the world. They are one of the few bands that "practices what they preach." In the future apply more thought to your responses before you judge someone or something. |

Wrinkled is also right "Straight incarcerated, the curriculum a cell block" just proves his point. Rage has a couple songs explaining the fact that schools teach some propaganda. While i attended school i was never taught the complete atrosities "White America" did toward the indians. This just proves that everything a teacher teaches may not be completely accurate. |

Actually the members of RATM rarely talked out side of making music. They didn't get along with each other very well. I highly doubt that he hated white people. He was a smarter man than that. |

I agree with bdm56. One of my favorite lines is, "Feel the critical mass approach horizon." This just means that, like bdm56 said, the opression is going too far and that the opressed will soon revolt. This song is a great example of RATM's politcal theme and incredible use of lyrics. |

Wats-up they're not forcing anything on anyone. They're simply voicing their opinion. "Why stand on a silent platform" You have to admit that lyrically they are one of the greatest bands ever. I love RATM and always will. They are the most unique and creative bands i've ever seen. |

sevenfeetdeep is right. This song is about falling in line and not questioning authority. I believe that the line "the silent sheep" refers to Animal Farm by George Orwell. The sheep were ignorant and followed to pigs rule without question. "cuase' i know the power of a question" refers to the fact that everyone's voice counts and they should not be afraid to use it. So in short don't authority without questioning it. |

Actualy Agent Orange was a defoliant, meaning it made plants drop their leaves. Tons of it was sprayed all over Nam to expose the enemy. Nobody, at the time, knew that it seriously messed people up including giving them cancer. -Just a little fact- |
