This song is the epitome of the c.d. its on Acrophobe. Acrophobe means a fear of heigh places, its a play on words meaning the fear of becoming to high..to great...and not being able to cope with succes. It does refrence the band Jawbreaker because thats exactly what happened to them..to much too soon.
Also..Joey is a pretty neurotic guy sometimes and this song is very clear what he tries to convey if youve ever talked with him. |

"Single" is scheduled to be the first release from Bad Astronaut's full c.d "Houston We Have A Drinking Problem" which is set to come out on Honest Don's now instead of My Records.
Marko actually wrote this song and is really excited that Don's is going to be doing a promotional push on the c.d. and try and get the song radio play in October.
This ones a little different to comment on...cause I know the person who wrote it and I dont really wanna judge what he was writing about, but fuck it like he'll see.
the narrator appears to have struggling issues with being in a relationship ecspecially when its one of distance..ya know actually this song is a lil more obvious to interpret so I'll leave it at that |

I agree but it seems the girl sees her fault to me and is sick of how shes viewed but at the same time doing nothing about it. you get the feeling she is lying to herself about wanting out of it "I know youd really like to let them in..." in other words....it's about being self destructive. either way my favorite line is "not innocent but different.." Also the blame is palced in so many directions for her..or his...behavior. |

pessimisitc as all hell I love this song. My fav BA song.(or one of them) this is the gritty and dirty side of things we all have to face. I dont even know this is just the fuckin song and its chilling. There seems to be this obsession with age and fear of getting old...but the phrase "Were dead by thirty" is actually a reference to the movie Logans Run
Logans Run is a kinda campy but cool sci fi movie in which in the furue on people's 30th birthdays they are hurled into space....these people are caught by "runners" employed to track them down...but what happens when one of the runners turns 30 ...??? rent it if you havent seen it then listen to the song |

It seems like lose of faith in onesself is a reoccuring theme in BA songs, but trying to slavage some sense of pride and respect through saving others does seem like the main theme here. "reminding you with my worst"...the narrator uses his own wrongs and failures to show others the way. but it seems more specific than the narrator just trying to save others, it almost seems like hes trying to save someone from his past...an ex lover maybe? "i left her in may..the fifth of dismay" |

Oringinally performed by Armchair Martian then conver on the AM vs. BA split EP Crestfallen, but yeah I think it's about someone coming to terms with things being fake and that everything isnt so great, and when you face reality its better then being naive....the debate over which is better harsh reality or ignorance and bliss. But the vibe I get fromthe song atmospherically is that the narrator may go tooo far with being fed up with "sugarcaoting everything" (good way to describe it detached) |

This song which at a time was refered to by BA member Marko as the most "astronomical song next to Jessica's Sucide" Bad Astronaut has done. The song feature guest vocals and guitar by talented Scott Garth..he sings "almost died..twice today...."
The song itself seems in my opinion to be about placing faith in someone..finally. After being laet down by people and the narrators own self, there is finally a psoitive influence in his/her life. an "antidote" to all that was negative, a final presence of comfort and rest.
