| This song is gorgeous. I'm not sure about the meaning, but I'm hoping the rest of the songs also tie into the album title ("9"). I love it when Damien and Lisa's voice overlap. | |

This song is great, just like most of the others on the new album. The build-up to this part especially: 25 wives in the lake tonight raw bark in the water of the marble shrine 25 snakes pour out your eyes yeah the icepicks cumming on the marble shrine 25 snakes are drowning I like how the album loops backs to the beginning perfectly. |

This song, along with their whole new album, is absolutely amazing. Recently, the band had an interview that sort of explains this whole album. "The story is inspired by a diary that Jeremy found in the backseat of a car while working as a repo man," singer/lyricist Bixler-Zavala. "He discovered he had a lot in common with its author. He kept it and let us in on it. The diary told of the author being adopted and looking for his real parents. The names of each song are named after people in the diary. Each person he meets sort of points him in the direction of his biological parents. This definitely explains the last verse better, but otherwise, it is difficult to interpret these lyrics. Still, an amazing song. |

| The intro is so unique and rivetting, you can't but but help listening to the rest of this glorious 8 minutes and 27 seconds of pure joy. I do believe it has it's religious roots, but it's also incredibely awesome overall. | |

I also believe this song possibly symbolizes humans as the tapeworms and the Earth the actual "person" in this song. Here's a few excerpts from the song and how it pertains to this theory: But I cannot grow, Till you eat the last of me, Oh when will I be free, ^Here, the Earth is saying it cannot begin to regrow and be free until humans devour all of the Earth's natural resources and move to another planet. And you, a parasite, Just find another host, Just another fool to roast, ^Again, calling humans parasites, and the Earth telling humans to find another "host" or planet. Cause you, My tapeworm tells me what to do, ^We tell the Earth how we want something, and it has to agree, for we are the dominant species. I can't see how the others relate, but these definitely relate. |
