Now I don't agree with what Zack says because I'm a proud follower of jesus Christ and can't really indentify with this, but here's what he means. As stated above, Zack's father made some incredible, politically charged paintings. But then his father found religion. He decided to completely devote his life to christ. He forced Zack to fast for days and burn the paintings(I'm guessing as an offering to god? Not sure though). Zack loved the paintings. But he also had to stand by and watch his father crumble mentally. He wasn't really working so he could no longer pay the bills, etc. In saying that "jesus raped the spirit he was supposed to nuture", he's saying that jesus helped in the metamorphisis of his father into a person that was nothing like what he used to be. |

The song is about getting a chick pregnant and then having to face her mother. He's trying to explain to "Ms. Jackson" that they may not have planned the baby but that doesn't mean that he doesn't love the baby and want to care for it. |

Nawwww I'm not sure if that's what his childhood was like. Zacks father and mother separated but I'm not sure if he thinks his father wasn't there. I read their biography and it just says that his father was a painter and then he became very religious. He destroyed his paintings and began to focus only on god, making Zack fast with his father for days. Zack's relationship with his father is what "Born of a Broken Man" is about. I don't know if this is though. I think this is about how housewives in Mexico are treated aswell as around the world. In one of their home videos Zack talks about opressed people all over the world and one of the people he meantions is "A housewife, on a friday night, in any part of Mexico." So maybe that's what the song is about. Or just abusive marriges in general. |

Here's what I get from the song. I think it's about living a really awful life of crime of just being shady in general with someone. But then this person begins to grow up into an unstanding person. Until it's like they forgot about where they came from. Then the bad person ruins everything and gets them caught up in some sh*t or something. The good person gets pissed and basically says "f*ck you" to the bad person(I give you the gun...blow me away) and severes all ties. |

I may be wrong, but to me this song is once again about God. That's perfectly fine with me because I'm a proud christian and I totally identify with this song. I think the song is sort of a before and after type thing. In the beginning she seems very confused and upset. She needs peace of mind. They after the line "Touch my mouth with your hands" she talks about how her life is so much better now that she's found peace of mind through this person. I think that in the end of this song she is telling everyone that the remedy for whatever problem you have is God. Whatever mind shackles that hold you back with be unlocked if you just let him do it. You will "get free" if you get with god. I may be wrong but that's just how I took it. Cause this song has really effected me in that way. I love it. |
