Haha, I always thought the line that said, "sipping on my ice cold beer" was, "sipping on my high school beer." lol I always wondered what that was... |

The first time I heard this song, I didn't really listen to the lyrics, but I loved the way it sounded. I downloaded the song and looked up the lyrics, and I think I'd like the song better if the lyrics weren't so weird... |

I don't really think this is a regretful song about a one night stand, but maybe some kind of "forbidden romance" type thing, like a work office relationship. They were co-workers, but he always had an attraction to her, and then it turned into more, but now it's awkward seeing each other at work.
I love this song, like pumkinhed said, it's dimly lit, and quietly elegant. |

When sumonomen said they thought it was about the death of her husband, I disagreed at first. I kinda thought it was more about her husband leaving her, rather than dying. The more I listen to the song though, I think it is about not being able to move on after losing a spouse. Everyone thinks she's crazy for not being able to get over his death. The line that says, "momma says that I just shouldn't talk to you." confused me at first, and made me think it was about a relationship dying. But the line that says something about her talking to "this stone" makes me think it's his grave, and she's been talking to it, because it's the closest thing to talking to him himself. Nice song, makes me kinda sad though. |

I think this song is about having good intentions, and then everything just kinda of blowing up in your face, after doing/saying something stupid... good apology song I guess! |

This song is really challenging me to stop existing and start living because I only have one life to live, so I need to live my life to its fullest. |

Whenever I hear this song, it brings me back to the summer of 2004. I don't know why, I guess just because that's when I first heard it, and it became kinda my theme song whenever I had a fight with my boyfriend.
I think this song is about two people in a relationship who are in conflict, and although feelings were hurt, they still want the relationship to work out. They're wanting reconcilliation. It's such a well written song. Very simple lyrics, but still, very powerful. |

This song is so amazing and powerful! I was never sure if this song was about God, but now I know it is. It's so beautifully written!
"steadilydrowning", you CAN have a relationship with God! That's the great thing, He'll never reject you. Believe, go to Church, read the Bible, Glorify Him, live for Him! I'll pray for you for sure. Don't give up, God is with you. He wants to be your friend, you have to chose to accept Him though. If you need to talk, you can email me at snickerdoodle135@hotmail.com ... I hope you do email me, then we can talk about this further. God Bless.

Switchfoot is a great band. (I get to see them in concert in May!!!)
Anyhoo, what I gather from this song is that they're saying that if you fail, try again. (I think that cuz of the "I dare you to pick yourself up off the floor")
I think that they're saying bad stuff is gonna happen, but you gotta be strong, and keep moving forward.
Switchfoot rules.
God bless everyone.
