WOW!! I just heard this song for the first time, and I loved it. And now that I look at the lyrics, I am even more amazed. What a beautiful, incredible song about having something you love slip away from you. |

Hate to break it to you JohnnyFender, but yellowcard signed with Capitol Records earlier this year, a big record label, meaning that they will almost surely be on the radio when their next full length is released. |

Wow! This song is awesome! By far the best song on Yellowcard's new EP. Although i must say the way the lyrics are written at the end are very confusing because it makes it seem like they are said in order. Actually, the last minute, is a build up that ends up w/ 4 different parts being sung at once. Very cool |

| Jimmy Eat World – Goodbye Sky Harbor Lyrics

I think that this song can be taken literally and figurativly. Literally, I think it is about leaving a loved one behind, and the last line "So here I am above palm trees so straight and tall. You are smaller, getting smaller. But I still see you." is about leaving from Sky Harbor airport and looking back at the loved one he just left. But then figurativley, this song is definately about the death, religion, and the concept of fate and whether one controls his own actions or whether they are predetermined, as is the book "A Prayer for Owen Meany." Leaving can be interpreted instead as death, and the last line can be interpreted as being in heaven and looking down on the loved ones you had that still live. |

I heard this song live also, but it was after the cd had been released so i knew the song. But I agree with mighty in that the song was so fucking awesome when they played it live. They added on 2 minutes of instrumentals at the end, and then Matthew sang the words, "THe shit won't follow me no more" or something like that in replace of walking on a wire on the ground. and as he does a the end with the chorus, he sang this line extremely high and w/ so much emotion that it sent chills down my spine. Definately an awesome song on the record, but it pales in comparison to the live version |
