The singer has had a very hard time on love. I picture this song as a view on love, and not so much as a total act of "throwing in the towel." The singer (let's call her Cassidy... lead singer of AR) had always chose to view love as a storybook. She always knew it as the sky as the limit. Now she just sees dead ends. this man has just been horribly hurt by a woman. besides being hurt, he was taken advantage of and made to feel like he was worthless and being beaten on. usually in society we see things happen the other way around. but this man sings his heart out telling his tales of woe. hah, this is one of my dad's favorite songs. i hear it all the time. |
