| Earth, Wind & Fire – Got To Get You Into My Life Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| I think this song is just an expression of youthful infatuation and the general funness of being young with no strings attatched. Well, that is unless you happened to be unfortunate enough to sing it in show choir, in which case you just end up thinking of sparkly dresses and big hair. | |
| Billy Joel – New York State Of Mind Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| We sang an arrangement of this song in show choir the year we went to New York. He made us, a bunch of touristy Minnesotans clutching our travalers checks and camera's sing this song in front of a bunch of actual highschool choirs who were probably all laughing at us. Ah... memories. | |

I love that section of the first verse I think I know what you've been asking me I think you know what I've been trying to say I promised I would never leave you And you should always know Wherever you may go No matter where you are I never will be far away My highschool show choir sang this song for about five straight years, and I got so sick of it that I didn't understand any of the lyrics. I read them though a while back in a fit of nostalgia, and they really are quite beautiful. To complete the genereal sappiness of this posting I would have to bring in a failed relationship, but I think I will spare you. Billy Joel is a very gifted writer. Even things taken out of context are meaningful in his songs |

| The Beatles – Got to Get You Into My Life Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| Really? It really doesn't strike me as a drug song. It just seems like another typical suger-shock beatles tune. | |
| Weezer – Take Control Lyrics | 23 years ago |

The best part is that line in the first verse. "And I won't be ashamed Of the things we once made And I won't be comin' Back round here no more... no" i love the strength he puts into those words. That things are over, and he won't ever go back, but he will not forget or hide that he once loved her... Oy vey... Rivers is an awesome lyric writer. I would kill to write like that. |

| Weezer – My Name Is Jonas Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| It always seems to me like this is about how we all end up conforming to society. Everyone eventually succumbs to normalcy, even if they give up their free thoughts and ideas in the process. We grow up, and responsibility sets in, and then all we really have are memories of rebellion and nonconformancy. But then, that just might be me. My brothers opinion would be that it is a bunch of gibberish surrounding the worlds best 6/8 head banging song... | |
| Weezer – Only in Dreams Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| The lyrics of this song are almost to me an afterthought to that awesome instrumental section. They do fit well with the song though, in that they are so drifty and dreamlike. In any case, most of my friends hate this song, and it is nice to know that I am not a complete freak of nature. | |
| Weezer – O Girlfriend Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| Wait, wait, wait... where exactally is the "I wanna do you?" I had this on constant repeat for about a week (boyfriend issues. surprise, surprise, surprise) and I never remember hearing that line. Green wasn't so bad... hashpipe was kinda... um... interesting, but all in all it was good. Not like blue or pinkerton, but still good in its own right. No thinking involved. | |
| Weezer – Death and Destruction Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| Both versions are great, although I think the instrumental was a little bit better. But then, that is just me. The lyrics are not really the classic example of weezeresque poetry, but that really seems to add to the song. I would kill for the piano arrangement that Rivers Cuomo wrote. It is such a pretty song. | |
| Third Eye Blind – Deep Inside of You Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| This is wonderful song to listen to while eating chocolate and feeling sorry for yourself. Even if you never have had your heart broken, you can sit there, and imagine that someday, somewhere there will be someone who will be that broken up over you... it is enough to make a hard edged tom boy put down her c-wrench and dream romantic dreams... | |
