i dont know but i'm thinking this is talking about an unjust war, the sickened thirst and parasitic presence being that of greedy power hungry polititians and leaders. and then the part that goes like this "I must have read a thousand faces/I must have robbed them of their cause" is about the soldiers who have been drafted or forced against their will to join the fight, kinda like vietnam. |

i think this song is about the death grip of commitment. the "excavation" is talking about trying to renew the initial romance of the relationship, and "we're already dead" is talking about the relationship being dead. the bond, commitment, "gravity" is paralyzing him, and the rest is pretty easy to relate to that. |
