| Marilyn Manson – The Bright Young Things Lyrics
| 22 years ago

I think this is about little "goth" children,
who act that way in attempt to get attention.
"Perpetual rebellion with absolutely no cause";
I'm glad that he finally said something about
those "bright young things". |

| Marilyn Manson – This Is The New Shit Lyrics

I agree with the second interperation...
I think that most of the CD is like that, as well.
I'm not sure if I should embrace it for what it is
or dislike it for its simplicity and at times, seeminly idiocy. |

| The White Stripes – You've Got Her In Your Pocket Lyrics
| 22 years ago
|
|
The meaning is very simply expressed in the lyrics, unless there's something I missed. It's obviously about how he loves her so much that he is so afraid of losing her...I'm sure that at one point or another we've all felt this. |

| The White Stripes – I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself Lyrics
| 22 years ago
|
|
This is obviously about how, after a break-up, you feel like you have to start over with everything in your life. With most people, their significant lover becomes their whole life, so when a break-up occurs, people tend to be "lost" and they "just don't know what to do". |

| Red Hot Chili Peppers – Fight Like a Brave Lyrics

Well, one theory that I have (especially since I have seen the video) is that this song is about civil rights, partiularly those of Native Americans. I think that Anthony could relate, seeing as he has Native American roots. It's not just about this, of course, but about anyone standing up for a cause that they believe in, particulary if they believe in fighting for their rights. |

| Red Hot Chili Peppers – I've Been Down Lyrics
| 23 years ago

I think that this song is about drugs. This is not just because this song is on The Basketball Diaries soundtrack. I just really think that. I think it's about how drugs make you feel ("my head weighs neighty pounds"), but also about what is going on around the "druggie" (having no wife; feeling love from no one). |

| Weezer – Undone - The Sweater Song Lyrics
| 23 years ago
|
|
I thought it was funny when I first heard it (based on the lyrics of "if you want to destroy my sweater..."). I thought it was sort of a joke, but the next few times that I heard it, I realized it was sad. I mean, this is about a relationship coming apart. :( |

| Nine Inch Nails – The Big Come Down Lyrics

I think it's trying to overcome something, but at the same time you want it to stay. You may know that something is unhealthy, but you have to have it, or either you like it. Or either, there is no way you can get away from a problem because it's all inside of you. It's complicated for me to really explain but the best way to explain it is just using the example of anorexia. |

| Nine Inch Nails – The Day the World Went Away Lyrics
| 23 years ago
|
|
I always think of someone who seems to be dead inside, though from the outside someone may look like they are alive and well. I associate this with some of the bad things that have happened in my life...almost as if "he" could be looked at as "god". |

| Nine Inch Nails – Please Lyrics
|
It sounds to me like an addiction. I'm not sure what kind, though it seems to be an addiction to a relationship or another person. In the beginning you feel good because it helps release tension and it takes your mind off of your problems, but then you realize you've got to have it to keep you going, and it feels like you've got to have it to literally keep yourself alive.
"Watch the white turn to red, it fills up the hole but it grows somewhere else instead." I think this is talking about the problems addiction can "solve", while at the same time it is creating other problems in your life. |

| Nine Inch Nails – Pilgrimage Lyrics

It does remind me of an army as well (and btw I think that it's cool that you'd add an instrumental song to discuss the feelings people can get from them). I've looked at it as the government or the nazis after the innocent, with senseless massacre along the way. It's defenitely not a lullaby. |

| Cradle of Filth – Her Ghost In The Fog Lyrics
| 23 years ago

|
What does this song mean to me? I personally think of a guy that my boyfriend and I call "David Filth". He wears COF shirts just about everyday and he loves to be oh-so-gothic, so this is the title we have given him. This is his theme song and it means nothing more. |

It's obvious that he's trying to get away from someone or something. I think it's about being in school and just wanting to disappear. I mean, he's expressed that in interviews and in other songs like "Faget". |

| The Smashing Pumpkins – Tales of a Scorched Earth Lyrics

I know that back in the 1800s there was a "Scorched Earth Policy" where the Russians (?) were burning everything in their trail. This could be a song about things from the past that never seem to leave. There are no stopping some things...and I agree with the hoplessness as stated above. |

The title says it all...I love this song. I sing it to my boyfriend and I'm always signing my name with the lyrics when I write him letters. If only I knew who Billy wrote this about...or if it was even written about anyone specific. |

| The Smashing Pumpkins – Stumbleine Lyrics

I think I agree with what everyone else is stating...It's about young love...and just about being young. How Billy felt as if nobody understood him and I think that a lot of kids feel that way at some point in their life. It also goes to show that no matter how alone that you feel, you are not the only one. This song is very special to me. I rememeber being in the seventh grade and feeling so alone...growing up and having this song. |

I love this song...this is my favorite Christmas song. If you haven't heard it, I suggest you do. It's kind of obvious what it's about...so I'm not going to write any "meanings". I'll just suggest it to you =). |

| Coal Chamber – Bradley Lyrics

Well, Dez's name is really Bradley...I think it's about his childhood. He remember's "Bradley" because that's what he was called way back when (his school days). I've read that he had a really hart time in school...being an art student and looked down upon as a "drama fag". When he gets letters in the mail at Christmas, they are adressed to Bradley, who he "really" is. It takes him back to a time... |

I don't really know what this song is really about, but I always think of someone manipulating others. "Raping you all with a stick" - not in a literal sense. I guess it's complex...the thoughts I've got in my head. But, that's the main idea. |

| Deadsy – She Likes Big Words Lyrics

This is about a girl who seems (by the descriptions in the song) to be very complex. She is just playing a role, she's someone else. "She likes big words and playing pretend". A shallow girl is illustrated. |

| Deadsy – Mansion World Lyrics
|
|
This is about the afterworld. It's beautiful in it's imagery. It can also have something to do with karma - "In a mansion world the roles reverse - the slave becomes the master". It could just have to do with everyone's different opinion of what they believe to be "heaven" (which is in an adjective form, not necessarily a place). |

| Nine Inch Nails – Reptile Lyrics

|
I agree with egassem_lanimilbus. "Seeds from a thousand lovers drip down from within." It's personal to me because my friend went out with a seemingly nice girl and afterward he found out that she had cheated on him with about three other men. This reminds me so much of her. She stills tries to talk to him like nothing happened (just as "friends"). He still loves her, in remembering the way she seemed. The chorus is sung in a mocking way. |

| Nine Inch Nails – Even Deeper Lyrics

From my own experiences, I think that just when you've think you've understood the roots of your problems, you realize that whatever you are feeling runs even deeper. Something deep inside is causing it. Things have built up over time and situations become more complicated. It's about be empty inside, yet so full. |

| Marilyn Manson – She's Not My Girlfriend Lyrics
| 23 years ago
|
|
A lot of Manson's lyrics have got deeper meanings...but this is an earlier song back from the spooky kids era. In my opinion, they were pretty basic back in the day. The meaning seems pretty obvious to me. He's not going out with the girl and he's using her. She's very vulnerable and naive. I think it's about feeling guilty over something that you know isn't right but feels good. Very hedonistic. |
