to everyone who has said something along the lines of avril is not punk i fucking agree. and punk bands to not sing about their relationships--that's EMO! (for example- the ataris, saves the day, taking back sunday, dasboard confessional, etc.) if you want to hear punk listen to some anti-flag, nofx, mxpx, pennywise, left over crack, operation ivy, the casualties, the suicide machines or the donnas. they're more "punk" and anvil lawhatever, blink 182 or no doubt will ever be.
and you can't just "turn" punk. (yea, i know i have punk in this name, but it's a nickname for my hair when it was blue and i had liberty spikes in it.) being punk isn't how you look, dress or talk. it's just something that's unexplainable but it's just something within you. if you think that just becuase you dress "punk" that you are a punk than your a fucking poseur. poseurs are people that look like punks but they do it for FASHION. if you're not sure if you're not sure if someone if fake or not try flipping the tag or theirshirt. if it says it's from hot topic that a fucking dead giveaway.

i didn't always like dave matthews band, but my sister is a huge hippie and she got me into them a while ago and i've bene lovin them since. this is my favorite dave song because we always just sit on a blanket in the grass outside of a party with this playing and just trip out like in the song. dave rocks. |

this is my favorite ataris song of all time. i'm a huge ataris fan, and i'm always listening to one cd or another of theirs where evere i am. this song has such a special meaning to me because it's my boyfriend's song with me. but even if it wasn't i would still love it jsut as much. |

this and i.o.u 1 galaxy are my favorite ataris songs, and the ataris are my favorite band of all time. not all girls go for the jerks...i don't. i was involved with this guy who are a real asshole to me and i was too stupid to not be with him. but than i met this amazing guy, we became friends and he made me forget the asshole and i saw that nice guys are the ones who deserved to be loved. not the assholes. that was last march...it's almost september now and we're still together. so sometimes, the right guy does get the right girl (not that i'm saying i'm perfect for him or anything. but hey, i didn't pass the "door test" long before i ever heard this song.) |

i've loved taking back sunday since they played a show in my town almost a year ago when they first got signed to victory records. this song is just amazing beyond words, the prue emotion in it...it made me cry when i first hear it. this song just has to much meaning to me, especially when my boyfriend and i were going through all this crap i would just listen to tbs and feel what the lyrics said. and emotearstogo is right--girls aren't the only manipulative ones. |
