ok, if avril wants to adopt the trendy punk (yet that alone makes it not true punk) look, then fine, good for her. but why, oh why, is she being called a punk rocker by the press? because really,she's not. listen to a song like Complicated, and if the video had a person with a different look, it wouldn't be called anything else but pop, but because she has spikes and a tie the song is all of a sudden punk? and why does she have her guitar in her videos? is she trying to show off that she can play an instrument? cuz she doesn't play guitar in those songs at all. so AGAIN, she's desperatley trying to make an image for herself by having a guitar that she doesn't play there. in fact, it reminds me of that POP shakira video where she has her guitar every now and then for no reason at all....... |

all of sarah's songs are wonderful, but sometimes her voice ruins it for me. this is one of those songs. in some she sounds great and i could listen for hours, but in this one she just sounds annoying. good song in itself though. |

i think this song is about being in a relationship when you've got personal issues and soul searching to do, so you can't probably give to the relationship, so all you do is take (ie, "me, i'm a thief"). i also see this in lines like where it says "i know that she's somewhere underneath but i don't know how to find her" and "i don't expect you to understand this war". so it's just about not being able to give what you take from someone |
