Judging by the context it's used in, I'm pretty sure he's saying "a part" and not "apart". |

Hawaiianpride70: You've obviously never seen them live to hear their between-song banter. No Christian band would talk like that. However, I agree with bluwlf_8503. I wouldn't think any less of them if this WERE a religious song. They're an awesome band and this is a powerful song. Just my $0.02. |

Is it just me or is this a song about a girl who can't kiss very well?
"You took the words right out of my mouth/Oh, it must have been while you were kissin' me"
"I swear it's true/I was just about to say 'I love you'"
Sounds like he's saying "I was just about to say I love you but you kiss so terribly that now I don't want to" |

Man, I don't know but I hope so. I never really liked Meat Loaf in the past but this song got me to re-examine his stuff. It helps that my musical tastes have broadened a bit since my first assessment. You know, It's amazing how Jim Steinman writes all the music yet Meat Loaf sings it with such conviction, you'd think he wrote it. |

Just read my previous post and decided to clear up something.
I wasn't trying to be a jackass by saying that I really didn't care about what he was singing. I just meant that I have no opinion about the lyrics. I just wanted to comment on the music, which is awesome. |

You know, I really don't care about what he's singing. I like the music and the melody of his voice when he's laying it down. I really don't like Reggae because most of what I've heard is way too upbeat. But I really like this song. Yeah, the whole idea of a Jew doing Reggae is a bit funny to think about, and perhaps his personal appearance is a bit funny. But the guy's got talent and I won't begrudge him anything. |

I believe someone already mentioned this, but the song seems to be about sex. And I'm going to go a step further and say it's about some guy taking a girl's virginity.
Out of the red, out of her head she sang
Out of the red... Not to be getting gross, but what commonly happens when a female loses her virginity? Blood.
Out of her head... The hymen is often referred to as the 'maidenhead'. So basically he's saying she's lost her virginity and she's remarking on how great it feels. *shrugs* That's just me, though.
Don't mean to make the song sound cheap either. Even if you think of it in those terms, it still manages to be a beautiful song. |

That show on VH1 is shit. There was only tw people on that entire show who was qualified to discuss metal music, that guy from Anthrax. And even HE admitted this was a good song. Plus Zakk Wylde. The rest of them I doubt even LISTENED to metal. Most everyone were trying to pidgeon-hole metal into one category. "Oh, this song isn't metal because blah-dee-blah-dee-blah doesn't contain blah-dee-blah-dee-blah" I hated that show and everyone who had anything to do with it. |

This song kinda pisses me off. I love the slow parts of the song but I think when he picks it up and it gets real loud that it just ruins the song. I would have liked it so much better if it had been slow throughout. But otherwise, the lyrics are great. |

It's funny. Basically, they're saying "I don't give a shit what you think about me" yet people still feel the need to talk shit. It's like the song struck a nerve in all these shit talkers. |

I don't know... Perhaps it was the version I listened to... I know there's a regular version and a "quiet" version and the one I listened to wasn't labelled.. But the version of "Hurt" from NIN I heard, I didn't care for that much. It didn't sound that complex to me. Maybe I ended up getting the "quiet" version or something... But I just think the Cash version sounds better. Nevertheless, it's not something to argue over. |

The part where the girl's singing in the background (Sierra Swan, I'm guessing?)... I just love that. The fact that you can barely hear her (perhaps it's because I'm listening to an mp3 instead of the disc) makes her sound like a ghost in the back of your mind singing along with the song. |

Yeah. I'm fighting the urge to flame about peoples attitudes toward the Johnny Cash rendition. IMO, Johnny Cash did a GREAT job covering this. But you DO have to give Trent his due for writing the lyrics. But Johnny Cash just took this song and completely made it his own. That's just my two cents. |

Obviously you didn't catch the meaning of my post. My post is that if you absolutely HATE this song, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING WASTING YOUR TIME BY POSTING HERE? And as for me being a "jackass," I'm not the one starting off my post with "Eat me asshole." Notice that I never made any direct insults as you have. So calling me a "jackass" is like the pot calling the kettle black. And yes, you are correct. The folks who post NOTHING but "WOO WOO! THIS BAND IS HUGE!" don't have much of a right to post here. And for that matter, neither do you or I. This shall be my last post on this subject. I'm not going to waste any more space on this page bickering with you. I'm going to leave it to the people who actually have something to say on the meaning of the song. I suggest you do the same. But I must add, if I am a hypocrite, then you sir, are ALSO most definitely a hypocrite. And perhaps I am. I'm not going to waste my time or energy by checking for a reply, Mr. Pot. Mr. Kettle has better things to do. Goodbye. |

Why are you wasting yours and everyone elses time if you don't like the song? If you don't like it, don't listen to it. Turn the station. Turn the channel. I admit it's not the greatest song in the world by far but goddamn. There's more productive ways to spend your time.. Like playing in traffic for instance. WHy don't you go do that instead of clogging up this site? This site was put here so people could read the lyrics of a song and post what the words mean to them. If you hate it, the words mean nothing. So if they mean nothing, then you have no legitamit (sp) reason to post here. Go post on a song you DO like. |

Me and my friend both are hardcore fans of The Crow. I just recently bought the Collector's Edition DVD. And we both agree that this song makes the movie. This song was just perfect for the movie and they picked the perfect place to put it in. |

WTF is it with people and Nirvana? Nirvana was good but SHIT! They weren't the greatest band in the world. Kurt Cobain is dead. Let him rest for fuck sakes. Nirvana, no matter how great they are (which is a matter of opinion), they weren't the end-all, be-all of bands. Quit comparing everyone to them. |
