i take this song as growing as a person in the sense that you realize that the things they said when they broke up with you were true and you're the better because of it. and now it's time to face the uncertainty that comes with moving on with your life. |

i've held this long enough, so here's my soap box time. i neither care much for the ataris, nor this song, but i also do not know much about their musical history. i saw the video to this song on the pbs tape that came out a couple years ago and wasn't clear on certain lyrics. then i read some of these posts and some of you refer to them and presumably countless other bands as "sell-outs". how is signing to a major label and wanting your band to be heard selling out? just because you want to market your band? does this make anyone who passes out flyers for their band at shows a sell-out? after all, they're trying to reach a wider audience. come on. my feeling is that as long as the music does not change to please a broader market for the sole purpose of selling records to make money, then it's ok. is AFI now a bunch of money-hungry gluttons just because they signed to columbia? if the ataris are the same or at least a musical evolution (though somehow i doubt the latter), then more power to them and you people can keep enjoying them. out. |

ok, i'm not the world's biggest dashboard fan but i do know that, in the latest issue of Spin (don't get on my back, i read it sitting on my friend's shitter) chris carrabba states that the "your hair is everywhere" line refers to this woman's hair being very difficult to clean from his car seats. just a little nugget of trivia. oh, and don't use the dreaded "emo" term too loosely. the more musically unenlightened mistake it for whatever this is. |

i know a girl who, in december '02, heard chris drunkenly admit that he hates this song now and never wants to sing it again simply for that reason. frankly, i can see why as i never cared for this particular tune even though i do enjoy this band. |

for the record, saves the day is not straight-edge. my friend's sister met them two hours after their portland, maine show was over and by that time, chris conley was VERY drunk. (they were celebrating ash's last show on the tour) |

Not just selling out in a musical/professional sense, but this can be applied to anyone's life. Even if you feel like you're nothing to anyone else, you at least always have yourself and your ideas of what's best for your life. F--k the 'burbs and the bitchin' SUV! |

i put this song on a mix for someone and tried to include lyrics. but, like you all seem to be, i'm stuck on that 3rd line of the 2nd verse. i have no guesses that make sense, can SOMEONE help a po' brutha out? |

at any rate, i've never been blown away the first time i heard a song/artist the first time like this one did in the spring of '95 as i was listening to the local college station on my way home |

i could be wrong but i could swear the website once said that this, along with several other earlier songs of theirs, had absolutely no meaning whatsoever, in addition to neoness's cut-n-paste |

in response, i don't think this song is entirely different from many of the songs on "el oso", though each of their albums is a little different from the others, especially in the sampling. but whatever, they all kick poopa! |
