Limp Bizkit – Hold On (feat. Scott Weiland) Lyrics 23 years ago
What I think is that it's about when you say you hate someone, but they die, and then you realise that deep down you loved them. "Hold on, I find another way to let you go, away" - the "another way" is ending it happily.

The "we" in the song is Deryck and Ana (personification of anorexia). Deryck keeps thinking that he's going to eventually be thin, but Ana keeps on distorting his body image to make him feel fatter, and therefore want to lose more weight. Deryck does everything Ana says, as he feels she is helping him, when actually she's hurting him.

The faster we're falling/We're stopping and stalling : weight loss can sometimes be rapid but at other times be slow.
We're running in circles again : doing the same things over and over again to lose weight (starvation, bulimia, etc.).
Just as things were looking up : Deryck's getting close to his ideal weight, feeling thinner.
You said I wasn't good enough : Ana still tells him he's too fat, even when he's painfully thin.
But still we're trying : he tries again to lose weight.
one more time : he thinks that it'll be the last time he'll have to go through this.

Maybe we're just trying too hard : weight loss is too intense.
When really it's closer : he thinks that his goal (target weight or look) is coming soon.
than it is too far : however, she thinks differently - she's playing tricks on him to make him think he's fatter, and that his goal is further away than he thinks.

Cuz I'm in too deep : gone too far into anorexia (he is addicted).
and I'm trying to keep/Up above in my head : he's trying to stay sane.
instead of going under : "going under" is a metaphor for obsession.

Seems like each time I'm with you I lose my mind : she gets inside his brain, invading his thoughts.
Cuz I'm bending over backwards to relate : he's doing all he can to please her.
It's one thing to complain : she is constantly complaining that he's too fat, or that he's eating too much.
but when you're driving me insane : he has become obsessed with weight loss and can think of nothing else.
Well then I think it's time that we took a break : he wants to stop losing weight for a while (it's too much hard work).

I can't sit back and wonder why/It took so long for this to die : he was anorexic for a long time (he wrote this after he recovered), but he doesn't know why.
Cuz I hate it when you fake it : he hated what she did to him.
You can't hide it you might as well embrace it : he's saying that she couldn't hide the fact that he was thin forever, so she might as well stop wrecking his life.
So believe me it's not easy : weight loss was hard work.
It seems that something's telling me : all along, there was a voice inside him (other than her), telling him that she wasn't telling the truth.

Instead of going under again : he doesn't want to become anorexic again.

I'm not too sure, really. Possible though? Oh yeh, and why do people keep commenting on whether 41 are punk or not? Does it matter?
