I think that the "pieces of heaven" actually refers to the "angel" she bought. i think what they were selling on tv was actually this whole idea that to fit in in society, you have to have certain things... "And I saw it on tv They were selling pieces of heaven And I thought, hey what about me? When am I considered?" which by the way should read, "cause i saw it on tv" i think this song is about doing something for the wrong reasons. To me, personally, it's about dating someone not because you have feelings for them but some other (for example, to be cool or fit in). "I chained my angel to the eavestrough It was November and I think I pissed him off " I think this means that she actually had no use for her "angel" so she left him outside because she doesnt know what she's supposed to do with him, hence the part: "Come and sing me a song or two, Whatever it is you angels do "; she only bought him because everyone else was doing the same thing, so she doesnt know what his purpose is. I can relate to this song because i almost dated a guy who had like a "bad boy image" just to piss my parents off. But when we were alone, I couldn't deal because we had so little in common. i think its about escaping commitment because you're scared of feeling something. i get this from the part where it says: "seven a.m the cars come gotta fly gotta say goodbye leave them before they leave me turning the sheets rolling in his sleep he wants me to go faster" the part that says: "gotta say goodbye leave them before they leave me " it think this means she's insecure about her relationship and thinks the guy is going to leave her. there's yet another part: "I'm a photograph taken from where you are " i think this means that she's what everyone else wants her to be, not who she really is. i think this song is about soul searching. peace, savannah |
