| i've seen theme preform this song, and he said that this is a song about a girl that he basically screwd over. However he did love her, but he has to say goodbye... well bc she left. But ne ways he talks alot about elizabeth in his songs, and I think theres another girl cant remember. But i love how his songs all interconnect. This song talks about how "if your the queen of california baby, then I am the king of rain", and low n behold there is a song entitled Rain King... ne whoo this concert was fabulous... the band really connected with the audience. :) | |

| To me this song is basically a one sided conversation. The speaker clearly has issues with allowing people in, however his/her lover has penetrated just enough of his barrier to scare him a bit. He feels almost tricked "i'm not falling for this one" and dont ever try that again". | |

oops sry forgot to adress this part of the song the lyrics go: " wheres the spave if fill where the sympathy i killed i need to find a meaning im useless, im useless trapped inside my own web" suggesting that sometimes even the speaker of the song falls into that whole trendy, fall into the masses, bullshit. | its about the masses and he is trying to convey a message that it is a much better thing to be a leader than a follower (reall tired of the clones). And the repetition of whatever you say simply means i'll go along with what you have to say because Id rather not have to think for myself. And "bring me a light..." is saying that something or someone else is the measurment of your happiness and fufillment. Which is no good, still the song rocks, and if you read the lyrics you find it promotes people to do and think for themselvs. | |

| UMMMM .... NO. This is actually one of my favs by T.O.N.; its a remake of a neil young classic in case you didnt get the memo. But seriouslly its a pretty damn good one. The meaning is simple and to the point pretty much its about an artist/singer/rockstar who comes to his cinnimon girl after the tretous hours of touring and working your ass off. She dosnt like that the speaker is struglling but they stick it otut together. :) :) | |

she's the other women and cought in a pretty tough situation ridiculed by almost everyone, including him. she wants to get away as in the lyrics of "what if I'm a mermaid". "In these jeans of his with her name still on it"; I think means shes had sex with someone elses man, making the situation all that more awful to deall with. Shes frustrated and just wants to tell everyone to shut up. She starts to think about the consequences and i think the lyrics "I got 25 bucks and a cracker do you think it's enough To get us there" means one of two things either she thinks going through with an abortion would be an even greater sin on her and her significant others behalf or that if she keeps it her and her child maybe doomed. By the end of the song she ends up sympathyzing with the man, and she is there for him when he wasnt, grr makes me mad. Anyways that was then and this is now and i do believe that the repetition of the lyrics "silent all these years" means that this has all happen in the past, and she is finally able to say something about it. So yeh its not written in chronologicall order and that can piss alot of listerns off, however its the artist job to give us something... ARTISTIC, and theres no rules to that. so if your pissed off by the way the lyrics are written i think it maybe you fear change and that your outlook is limited to looking at things from one point of view. |

I was thinking the same thing, as frowned reading the first few entrys (not that they were bad interpetations just different). I see what frowned is saying and I would just like to add that I feel its also about the fact that people would rather get FUCKED up or "have fun" to forget their worries rather than try and make a difference. And because getting fucked up or/and having fun only helps you feel good or fix the situation for a limited amount of time, we will inevitablly be faced with the end of the world. And at that point what are we to say but: "It's all over, we don't care We just want to feel good " |

| Ok maybe Noone has commented on Pac Bell b/c the meaning is obvious. But hay; this song ROCKS. Pretty much its about the demise of a relationship between a guy and his chick. He notices that their entire being has been a joke, and that she holds him down (Why the fuck you hiding my sunshine), more than anyhting else. He finds that they have stayed together for all the wrong reasons and that she may say or suggest that she loves him her eyes cant lie, and he see's through her.
